There's nowt so deaf as those who don't want to hear. I know your approach very well. It works best when you are skinny.

Still in my case I gain at about a stone a year. As I worked out in the first year after I lost the weight and could do all those things successfully. Why I ended up working out I was best relogging calories every 4 months or so.

It also fails miserably when you are injured and can't exercise, at all, for months. or when actually overeating is arguably preferable coping strategy to antidepressants which, incidentally, cause you to gain weight.

If I was programed that way, I would never have reached 17 stone in my early 30's in the first place. I didn't own a scale or calorie count once in my teens or twenties.

It works when you're obese too, I know of more examples than just me.

I don't know many examples of dieting working long term though. We'll have to agree to disagree but it baffles me how people want to keep doing the same thing that never worked over and over again.

It's certainly worked for me with mental health issues too, if anything it's made things better on that front than dieting ever did. But it's hard work and patience.

200 for the omelette,
360 for the sandwich (I looked on MFP)
170 for the fairy cake.
So 730.
I agree @Icedlatteplease! I ate what I wanted for the last year and gained over 10 kilos. Back to MFP and counting calories! 5kg down (need to lose a lot more than just another 5kg though)!

So you're essentially planning to just count calories forever?

And you don't think there's a better way? Like actually long term fixing your eating habits.

I’d recommend My Fitness Pal. It helped me loose 3+ stone.

The Greggs sandwich is 334 Calories.
Eggs x 2 @70 each 145 with the spray
How do you know the cake is 170? Butter is calorific so if you had butter icing in it it could be more.

@Miajk until I loose the weight, yes. If I eat mindlessly I put it on. The idea is I need to learn the correct portions and then carry on, and yes, forever. Once I get to the weight I want, I will adjust the amount until it is maintained. That IS fixing my eating habits.

Intermittently yes

What else do you expect to happen if you naturally enjoy food and naturally gain weight?

Frankly eating healthy is dull, boring, and hard work prepping. Green Vegetables really don't taste great generally

I can do spag bol for just over 400cals and one for over double that. I can tell you which one will taste better and give more joy.Frankly not a lot beats a ready made lasagna when you're on your last legs emotionally and physically and absolutely the last thing in the world you want to do is prep vegetables.

Except ordering a kebab. Absolutely nothing beats a kebab when you have had a shitty day.

Which is why You will never ever fix my eating habits long term by mindful eating. Because I find it dull boring and an absolute fag.

No most people won't be maintaining without some form of exterior diet restriction if they have lost a lot andkept it off. My guess is that they just dont tell you
