It depends on your weight/height/age etc.
Getting GoogleFit on your phone would work this out for you. What did you use to count the steps?

iPhone has an app called Health that tracks all that kind of stuff for you if you set it up.

I weigh the same as you and same height, I’m 40.
on Monday I did 22,200 steps, (6.7kms of that was a run, the rest was walking) and I burned 2400 calories over the whole day.

It's about 100 cal a mile I think - so what distance was 22000?

caringcarer · 09/08/2023 02:51

Just download the free stepper app on to your phone. It tells you steps walked, distance, calories for each day plus a history and you can set a daily target and water drinking prompts.

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 09/08/2023 11:18

It’s about 100 cal a mile running. 80 walking.

Oldermum84 · 09/08/2023 11:28

100 per mile, a mile is around 2000 steps, so 1100 calories.

Yep, this.

It's a very broad calculation but better than nothing.

Depends on your height weight etc.
how long is a piece of string.

Whatwhat123 · 09/08/2023 11:55

I read somewhere that exercise doesn't actually burn any more calories at all! That we use up the same amount of calories each day, and that our bodies just slow down other systems to get the energy. Doesn't make much sense to me but apparently it's true!

powerpufff · 09/08/2023 12:17

Wow! How do you achieve this?

Yeah, the secret is building muscle by lifting weights - that will have a huge impact on burning excess fat and loosing weight
