Good evening ! I hope you can help me. I’m booked to have a gastric sleeve in February. I know it’s not a miracle solution but just a tool with weight loss.

I’m started to stressed and getting overwhelmed-I’m a proper food addict, my life resolves around food, I’m worried I won’t cope after the surgery, with the deprivation.

i need help but I don’t where to start or to get it.

I’d love to hear about people who got the proper help and it was really useful for after they got sleeved.

Thank you

Sounds like you need some therapy to deal with your issues with food. Have you spoken to your GP?

I haven’t no, he is going to say to join a sliming club - no ? I get texts regularly

A properly constituted bariatric service is meant to include psychological help, isn't it?

Hi, where are you having the sleeve?

That’s so great you’re going to be more healthy in future.

It would be best if you got counselling to understand why your life revolves around food.

Otherwise you will end up with the same problems again. In time.

I know a friend of a friend who puts McDonald’s into a blender so she can eat it. She isn’t supposed to eat that crap.

She lost weight at first but once she started using the blender to do junk food she put nearly all of it back in and is gradually heading towards her old weight.

All the gastric surgery in the world can’t overcome a persons desire to be happy and if foods the only thing that does that then you’ll end up like that woman and be angry at yourself and turn to comfort food and hate yourself and turn to comfort food etc etc...

I hope you can get counselling soon that will change your life and you can be happy doing other things. Who knows, you may not need the surgery after all if you get the right counsellor!! Fingers crossed you have a successful outcome whatever happens.

@wizzywig in Turkey
@Elieza it’s exactly my fear to be like your friend. I have failed at every diet, it feels like it’s my last chance but I can’t do it blind sided. Thank you for your post 😘
