Help! How do I sort this out?

I’ve name changed and my user name says it all really - I’m fat and 57! I’m 12stone 7 and just feel so down about myself. I’d like to initially lose 1.5 stone and then review things at 11 stone.

is this achievable at my age? I am on hrt and also levothyroxine (175mg).

Im thinking fasting 16:8 (although don’t know how I’ll deal without my morning latte), 10k steps a day and strength training (Caroline Girvan) 5 x a week.

I just feel old and fat and ghastly- if I see myself in a mirror it’s like I’m looking at another person. Is it possible to turn things around at my age? Whilst I guess my crepey neck is something I need to accept - I just feel so lost.

Your thinking seems good.

16:8 is a fairly sensible eating window. Don't beat yourself up if some days are 14:10 and the odd day goes straight out of the window.
Americano not latte (sorry) or tea, keeps the caffeine levels more consistent.

I'm the same age as you, we need and deserve quality not quantity. Dump surplus processed food. Eat enough protein and a huge variety of plants. Good fats will help your skin cope. Don't be tempted to starve yourself for fast results, you're too old for that shit.

We've survived the menopause, we are brilliant and yep we need to exercise our bodies. That "oof" as you get off a chair should not get too much lounder as you age.
