Fast 800 (or 1000)

Hi ladies, I've been up and down with various diets and whilst I'm not gaining I'm not losing! Have a LOT to lose, a serious amount. And I think really the only way for me to go is proper calorie counting - I always way underestimate portion sizes! I'm going to try a very low calorie diet for 6 weeks where I'm eating ideally no more than 800 calories (or 1000 if needs be on an occasional day but still low ish carb). I'm going to skip breakfast as I always do this anyway. Does anyone fancy joining me for the ride? Always looking for accountability 🙈 even if you aren't doing this diet but have started recently!

Hello, I'll join you! I'm going to do the fast 800 800-1000 with the time restricted eating and med style. Hoping to do this for as long as I can, up to 8 weeks to really get my appetite and sugar cravings down. I'll be starting on Monday 7th August

You mention that you're going to do a low cal diet but do you actually mean you're going to do Michael Moselys Fast 800, or that you're simply going to calorie restrict to 800 cals for 6 weeks or so to try and see fast weight loss?

Fast 800 is great as you reduce carbs to a moderate level, increase your protein to keep you feeling fuller and cut out sugar too. So you really feel great and not hungry. It's not easy to start but good luck!

Also consider what you want your life to be like after the 6 week period, a kick start then reverting back to your current way of eating will do nothing for you (I'm not judging .....I'm simply speaking from experience.....I need to do Fast 800 and then move to maintenance)!!!

Hello! This is lovely news, I've probably been around 900 calories on average and am doing a little intermittent fasting too. Excited to hear how you get on when you start :)

I'm doing somewhere between 800-1000 a day. I've done it before and lost 4 stone so I hope it gives me a good kick start again - thanks!

Hi, can I join too. I've been doing this since Saturday. 800-1000 clad a day, low carb, low sugar.
I've done ok so far. Not even that hungry. However DH is away with the kids this week, so I haven't had their food and snacks around to break my resolve! It will be harder when they are back.

Just found this thread. I know there’s another fast 800 but realistically I’ll be doing closer to 1000, or else I become unwell.

I’m starting tomorrow, we are away this weekend.

I lost about 3.5 stone a few years ago and have put on a stone and a half this year, more if I include these holiday pounds. So disappointed in myself, having kept it off for such a long time (about 8 years).

I need to be really strict and go very low cal, or else I just don’t lose.

TheDuchessOfMN · 06/08/2023 15:50

I’ll be doing my grocery shopping in the morning. Looking forward to it not being as expensive 🤣

Could someone post a sample diet of what they eat in a day?

sandyhappypeople · 06/08/2023 16:29

Can I join in! I’ve been doing the fast 800 for about 6 weeks but the last two weeks it’s gone off the boil a bit, I want to sharpen it up again tomorrow!

I think I’ll be doing closer to 1000 as it’s not quite as restrictive! I do intermittent fasting though, I do the 16:8 version as I don’t eat breakfast anyway.

it works really well when I stick to it!

RantyAnty · 06/08/2023 16:33

I'm going to start this today after my birthday cake.

I tried a few days last week of fast 800 to see how hard it would be to stick to and I think I've worked out what to eat during the time period and it wasn't too bad and it seems more about breaking my bad habits more than anything else.

TheDuchessOfMN · 06/08/2023 17:33

Happy birthday 🥳 @RantyAnty

How is everyone doing? I've cut back the last two weeks but started batch cooking some of the fast 800 recipes and ready to go for it full speed tomorrow. Hoping to do the 800 more or less for 6-8 weeks and then switch to 800 Monday to Friday for a wee while and eventually hopefully only one or two fast days for maintenance. That's my plan, now I need to go and roast cauliflower 🤣 hope it's going well for everyone

TheDuchessOfMN · 29/08/2023 22:18

I think I lasted about a week. I just couldn’t do it any longer.
It was great, it kickstarted weight loss and I’m continuing to lose. I don’t really calorie count but I’d imagine I’m eating 1,200 or so.

How’s everyone else doing?

Helenahandkart · 29/08/2023 23:10

I did this last year and lost almost 4 stone in 3 months. The Fast 800 was a lot easier if you did lots of batch cooking, and did the two meals a day plan - otherwise you’re constantly cooking and washing up.
I struggled a bit with lunches if I was out of the house. There weren’t enough packed lunch options for me.
I never quite reached my target weight, and regained some of the weight I’d lost afterwards. It’s very easy to return to old habits, so be vigilant!

So sorry I created this thread then abandoned it! I actually have decided to TTC number 2 so not doing this extreme low cal diet! But I am hovering in and around 1200-1400 daily so that is hopefully enough to get something shifted (I've lots to lose).
Good luck to anyone still trying this!!!
