I need to lose 2 stones of pregnancy weight and the thought of it is bringing me down seriously. I need some motivation - any positive weight loss stories where you felt good, mentally and physically?

I worked out my TDEE then took off 20% to get a weight loss calorie target. I’d read this on some site or other. I then logged on to My Fitness Pal and started. At the end of the first week I was ridiculously pleased that I had found it not too difficult. I didn’t want to go all gung-ho so focused on diet rather than suddenly starting a mad programme of exercise.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that sticking to a calorie target really did result in weight loss. I’d kidded myself in the past that it was ‘because of my thyroid problem….because I have a desk job’ etc etc.
The numbers on the scales consistently dropped and, by the time I was half a stone down, I was feeling pretty amazing. I then started doing short yoga workouts a couple of times a week and having a walk a couple of times a week, along side logging my calories, nothing huge just a 30-40 min brisk paced walk and sticking to the same calories (don’t log exercise on MFP or it gives you extra calories to eat back!). I’m happier, healthier, lighter and slimmer. It’s been a positive journey all the way.
After losing just over 3&1/2 stone its now just a way of life and I’m so pleased I learned how to actually check calories and take account of what I was eating. My daily calorie total has gone up now I’m at target weight but I think I will always log on MFP, it keeps me accountable, but I don’t stress if I go over occasionally. I really wish I had done it when DC were small instead of feeling fat and frumpy, I hate how I look in all the DC’s photos that I’m in.

This sounds very encouraging, thank you. I hate myself in the pictures with DS :(

Hey! After being overweight my whole adult life and after a twin pregnancy I hit rock bottom with my self esteem and body image / confidence.

I hired myself an online coach who put me on a basic meal plan but it's not as boring as it sounds, basically he worked out the basics for my meals and I worked around this.

Increased my output with steps and started weight training 4 days a week.
Checked in with my coach every week who would then make changes to my plan / cut calories.

Over the space of 18 months I lost 100lbs, gained a good bit of muscle and definition and more importantly found my self confidence

Ive just lost 1.5 stone on slimming world. It defo works for me. Ive been at target for a month now, Im loosely still following the plan but with some extra syn days and a few meals out, a couple of nights out and teeat here and there. Despite that, Ive continued to lose weight, ive lost about 4lb more than target so im really really pleased. Back to my pre pregnancy weight following bavjng 2 kids 6 & 3 yrs. My caesarean overhang remains though i think that’ll be there no matter what but oh well, I can live with it lol. I am pretty active- gym twice a week plus a parkrun and lots of time on my feet. So it can be done!
