I am counting calories today.
212 quaker oats apple porridge
240 whole avocado
256 2 slices of bread
55 apple
80 mayonaise
handful of salad leaves
Didn't think I'd had a lot but that's 843 calories

It’s a lot of carbs which will make you hungrier. You need a lot more protein.

Mozzarellapie · 13/07/2023 12:57

I’m frequently at 800/900 by midday and just have a smaller evening meal and have lost a stone in 6 weeks so don’t worry

BoohooWoohoo · 13/07/2023 12:57

Is that breakfast and lunch?

Pollywoddles · 13/07/2023 12:58

Yep and not much protein there so I’ll bet you’ll be hungry soon although plenty of fat in the avocado so that might tide you over. How many calories are you aiming for a day? You should still be able to have a decent dinner.

Tinyplant · 13/07/2023 13:00

If that’s breakfast and lunch, 800 is fine.

I wouldn’t personally have bread for lunch every day, but sometimes is fine.

Just don’t snack, have a dinner that’s around 800-1,000cal, and you’ll be at a deficit surely?

empatheticpretzel · 13/07/2023 13:03

Yes the sandwich and the apple was lunch. I am 5ft 2 so I think I need to eat less than 2,000 calories anyway?

That's not much for breakfast and lunch, and sounds delicious and healthy.

So long as you get yourself a low calorie evening meal around 500cal eg a steak of salmon and green beans that'll be fine.

Sometimes I have a banana milkshake (nothing added, just banana and milk) for a snack and I find I don't need to eat much later on because I'm not hungry.
It doesn't bring boys to the yard or anything but it's nice and has helped me along in weight loss.

Wallabyone · 13/07/2023 13:06

I tend to eat less than a whole avocado in one go, and I would shop around for bread to find some which is fewer calories (I like M&S danish style). Do you like eggs? They fill me up much more than porridge.

gamerchick · 13/07/2023 13:11

Protein protein protein. Can't say it enough.

waistchallenge · 13/07/2023 17:55

The obvious thing to ditch is the two slices of bread, low carb is an easy way to lose weight. Even if you weren't doing low carb, two slices on top of porridge stuff is a lot. Also mayo which has added a lot of calories and little nutrition.

waistchallenge · 13/07/2023 17:55

*ignore the word "stuff", meant to delete it
