Intermittent fasting

Hi
So I am 14 stone 10 and want to lose a significant amount of weight within the next 12 months as I am getting married next year. Iv always been around 10ish stone.

I have tried counting calories but feel a bit obsessive and ultimately always end up falling off the wagon, so I am going to give intermittent fasting a go.

Yesterday and today I haven't eaten until dinner time and then eating normally. I haven't pigged out but just ate a usual dinner.

Has anyone else done this and successfully lost weight? I'm so desperate to be slimmer but just finding losing weight so difficult.

I've been doing 16/8 (so fasting for 16 hours a day) since April and have lost 10lbs. Others lose loads more and much more quickly but I suppose it depends on other things too like starting weight and eating habits.

I try to eat between 11-7 but I'm flexible which is the great thing about IF. I have a late healthy breakfast, small lunch and normal tea with the kids. The app LIFE fasting is good and free. I find it helps me because I have to actually log on/off when I open and close my window.

Plain fizzy water is great to help you stretch your fasting window. I try and go longer twice a week so 17/18 hours. Usually on the weekend when I sleep longer!

A meal with healthy protein will keep you going longer so what you eat becomes important.

Sorry, bit of a novel there. Good luck. It does work if you stick at it!

Congratulations Dude…! Good to hear.
The weight loss benefits of intermittent fasting are genuine. But regret not eating something is not good for health. Take something light when you feel hungry. And every day, engage in 15-20 minutes of exercise. Drink detox water to help you to lose weight. Count your calories each day as well.
