Fasting when working shifts

Does anyone have any insight into how intermittent fasting or OMAD would work when doing shifts. I want to try to lose a stone to start with and want to try fasting. I work nights so trying to work out how to manage this. I dont tend to eat much on my nights but do drink tea with milk, then on my nights off I'm tired and tend to snack all evening. Anyone know how this would work?,

What time do you sleep? And what time do you work? Just rough times

I work from around 9pm till 7am. I usually sleep around 830am till around 3 pm and on my last shift I only sleep till about 12 midday.

You need to fast for at least 16 hours as that's what the science says. Plenty of research into it as well. Never tried it but it seems to get results. So I guess you could either fast from 9am in the morning and then start eating at 1am when at work? Or tweak the time so it suits you?

I would probably try and do 12 hour fasts first and then work up to 16 hours. Also, if your diet is poor now, you may notice a difference just by eating healthier and also fasting for 12 hours. I'm no expert on fasting. But maybe you could do some research into it.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I think I need to get my head around the timings, it's just on my nights off work I wouldn't tend to eat at 1am. I suppose if I just stick to water to drink and not eat overnight I could just eat at teatime when I get up..I can go without food all day as I'm sleeping anyway. I do need to cut out the bad habits which would be a start I suppose!

How much do you want to lose?

Ideally about 2 stones, but a stone is my initial aim. I'm thinking that if I eat between 5pm and 0100 as the 8 hours and fast from 0100 till 5pm that might be manageable, at least I can have dinner and a bite to eat while at work. Then nothing from 0100 till after I waken up later on.
