Hello,

UK post - NHS

So I have discussed this drug with my GP and she said that my BMI meets the criteria but she needs to check my HBA1c too.

Last time it was checked it was 37 in 2020. I'm 29 years old and BMI is 42.

What is the HBA1c criteria?

How long before it can be prescribed? She mentioned a referral could take several months. I'm thinking if it's worth going private and paying the £250 per month?

That explains the hba1c. Is there an expectation that you have trialled other medications like metformin?

What is HbA1c?

HbA1c is your average blood glucose (sugar) levels for the last two to three months. If you have diabetes, an ideal HbA1c level is 48mmol/mol (6.5%) or below. If you're at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, your target HbA1c level should be below 42mm...
