way to go katy!i also think you'd be great as a leader....firm, optimistic, persistant and a good nork swinger...whats a golden key? is it a target weight prize?

poor discoverlife.....did the recipe need red onions?

busy day here. went for check up at dentists and he said that after all the work i've had done my teeth and gums are back in the normal healthy range....good as i thought i was going to lose some!

brekkie...muesli
lunch.....spicy mackeral and salad sarnie. half a fairy cake dd made for mothers day
eve.......potato bake,carrots,roast parsnips. melon
only managed 1L today....was often not near a toilet!

don't know about everyone else but i feel like something has clicked in my brain about this dieting malarkay....has only taken since october .....better late than never eh?
tea and fruit later

katylessbumpy · 27/02/2008 20:33

you get a silver 7 sticker for 7 lbs
a stone for a stone
a keyring for 10%
a gold mini key for your goal weight.
i can go under my goal within my healthy range but if i go more than 5 over i have to pay again.
it definately seems to me that the switch has clicked.well done polly
and thanks for the positive vibes x

Snap Polly! exactly what I was thinking!!! how funny! it really has t aken since october for me to really be motivated properly to do it, properly! Mind you, if i'd not started and been doing what I have since then, I'd probably be alot heavier now.

Ouch, Discoverlife! I can empathise totally

Katy: Go for it! well done on the loss, and yes, you would be fab. A good little job to do too you know. I've a friend who did SW, then became a consultant. She is doing SO well now. She has classes 3 times a week, and is making good money. She fits it in around the DC and has still kept the 4 stone off, that she lost doint it. SO, she knows th diet really well, and is a genuine inspiration to others. Much like yourself. you certainly have the qualities needed.

Fedda : I dont think they add sugar to dried fruit, at least, they ought not to be! It is just the naturally occurring sugars in the fruit as it dried. Much better for you, than granualted, caster, or any other refined sugars you can add to things. Well done on keeping positive

jahan & Mrs Fish: You two are doing AMAZINGLY!!! i didn't realise you had 12 week ols babies! my god, you are doing so well. any loss however small you think it is, is still a loss, so remember that. It is far better than a gain. try to visualise a lb of sugar or even 1/2 lb of sugar... its alot more than you first think hey? all those 1lbs add up to a whole lot more... much better to lose slowly and steadily, as you are more likely to keep it off.

MLP ((((((((hugs)))))))))) sorry, dont normally, but of course you were missed! SO pleased to see you. Glad you are settling in ok. Keep in touch now , no excuse!

Lovemygirls: Only 4 little choccie buttons? bloody hell, that takes come self control! I would have the whole bag, and probably another! Its fine every now and then you know...

So today:
Slimfast B & L
Snacks: banana, yoghurt with honey and seeds ( hmmm, seeing a favorite trend here? )
Satsuma, Lion bar large baileys later tonight...
Horlicks extra light. just found this in waitrose, under 40 calories a cup. I'm well pleased with this find, as I love horlicks and its really high calorie the normal version, made with milk. the light one is not great either... but this is extra light

no dinner yet... not feeling like eating tonight tbh. maybe just another bowl of yoghurt I think.

Hope you are all well ? sorry if i missed anyone out...

katylessbumpy · 27/02/2008 21:12

susie can i have a large baileys with ice please?

the general opinion is i should go for it then.going to talk it over with dh.i'm not quite ready to go back to work but it could be a fresh start in the not to distant future

i'll just practice on you lot pmsl x

Saying for today.

Work like you don't need the money,
love like you've never been hurt,
and dance like you do when nobody's watching."

susiecutiemincepies · 27/02/2008 21:21

Well, It wont feel like going back to work as such. oyu can do it as and when you can fit it in really. It is an income too. I think you should talk to them about what it envolves, and really seriously consider it. or, even SW? you've done that too?

I was thinking about you today Katy, as I booked my train ticket to Manchester on March 7th We are coming up by train at lunchtime ish. then DH joining us hopefully friday evening after work ( will be late) then I'm out with a group doing something,on saturday all night. We'll be all driving back sunday lunchtime, after I've had a little snooze. Maybe we could meet for a coffee on the friday arvo? think about it maybe? I assure I wont be offended if you don't fancy it

katylessbumpy · 27/02/2008 21:23

and f@ck like you're being filmed

hows your finger? x

OP posts:
discoverlife · 27/02/2008 21:25

The onions were for TOMATO Soup.

Regards the weight loss.
Next time you are in the supermarket, go to the butter aisle and pick up and stack a pile of LARD equal to your weight loss. Then imagine that Smeared all over your body in a thick gloopy layer. You will feel proud of what you have done.

katylessbumpy · 27/02/2008 21:26

susie i would love too!
oooh i'd better go shopping.i'll obviously need new shoes

OP posts:

discoverlife · 27/02/2008 21:29

Thumb is fine, its not the first time I have done it. I have taken the tips off every digit of both hands over the last 25 years working in catering. Im used to it, I just rinse it under the tap to get anything like onion juice out and slap a piece of gauze on it with a bandage to hold it in place and a finger stall to keep it dry.

katylessbumpy · 27/02/2008 21:30

your braver than me discover.i'd be howling and wailing for ages.i cry when i stub my toe fgs

I am SO nervous every time I wash a glass up now, since I cut my knuckle. It hurt so much getting it stitched and for about 2 weeks after. It is still really tender. maybe as it was over a joint it takes more to heal as it's always under tension... anyway, the glasses are all done with a bottle brush now!

katy thats great! so pleased. I think we get into piccadilly at about 14:45 or something close. I think that this is prob not the best time for you as you have to do the school run?

discoverlife · 27/02/2008 21:48

I think the worst thing to happen to me at work (off the top of my head) was when I left ctereing and went to work at a sewing factory. I sewed right through my finger, they had to take the needle out with pliers.

susiecutiemincepies · 27/02/2008 21:50

Will make a call tomorrow actually, as I think I can get the train before for no extra cost. reckon that would be better for you? I'd have to go and dump the bags at the hotel first, or maybe meet you at Piccadilly station even? Anyway, you let me know about the timing.. and i'll tell you if I can change it. Then we can go from there!

*note to self : must lose half a stone by next week

katylessbumpy · 27/02/2008 21:52

susiecutiemincepies · 27/02/2008 22:00

Cool, looks like it will be a date then

We'll be in touch before i'm sure!

I'm going to go and lie on my loverly tempur mattressed bed.... its the best money of DH's ( ) I've ever spent! It has made a huge difference to my pain. I used to wake up in as much pain as I went to bed in, now I at least wake up, with much less pain in the morning....

Going to find something on tv to watch, have a baileys to aid relaxation, and have a natter with Dh who's at work. then hope to drift into a nice sleep again.

Repeat mantra 10 times before bed, on waking and at least 3 times throughout the day:

" I will lose weight, I can lose weight, I will be slimmer. I will be in control of what goes into my gob I can do this. I will do this. I will reach my sensible goal. I will be slimmer. I can do this "

night night ladies. be good

discoverlife · 27/02/2008 22:03

Yeh! people say to me about DS that I can't keep him wpapped in cotton wool all his life ref. the HE'ing. But I don't wrap him up, I just act like the lightening rod so that harm comes to me instead of him. The worst that has ever happened to him was when he contracted Pneumonia at 4 1/2. He hasn't even had a cold since then. Oh apart from a sore throat about 3 weeks ago.

katylessbumpy · 27/02/2008 22:04
