Gastric Sleeve Support

I thought I would start a thread for those of use who have already had a gastric sleeve.

I had my sleeve a year ago. I started off at 18 1/2 stone and I’m now just below the target weight advised by the hospital. I was told I had a year and a half to get to 11 1/2 stone and I’m just under that now. I want to lose 1 more stone, but would be happy to stay as I am if it stopped now.

My weight loss seems to have slowed down but I am still losing around 4-5lbs a month.

As tough as it was at the start, I am so happy that I did it. I don’t drink alcohol or fizzy drinks, but I can eat most foods. Having said that, I rarely eat red meat and love fish now!

Would love to hear how others are getting on a few months in (and longer) from having their gastric sleeve.

There is a specific bariatric surgery thread which is helpful OP.

I had my sleeve in Feb. Im a very very slow loser! Only just on 3 stone loss now, so thats in 4 months.

I have had some difficulties eating but this is getting better now and the difference is quite stark. Im in much more of a rhythm now in terms of the eating and drinking but its still hard sometimes to get enough in. Im getting around 800-1k cals a day but yesterday for example I was around 650ish, so its not every day. I nearly always reach my protein and liquid targets though.

I also lost a lot of weight pre op so that helps and Im just under 5.5 stone down now

Im on a support group from the provider I used and its invaluable and the nurses have been great, really supportive and look after you

What did you mean by the way when you said that you had a year and a half to get to a certain weight, who told you that and what would happen if you didnt?

I'm 10 weeks in from sleeve surgery. Including my LRD loss, I've lost 4st 1lb. I'm hitting my protein and fluid goals, but I have to plan well and weekends are less structured, so harder to hit fluid target especially.
I have underlying health conditions, do I'm loving that I can get out walking more and am working to build my step count up.

I had gastric sleeve and hernia repair yesterday in Turkey. I was petrified and had a rough first day but I seem to be on the mend now. I’d love some advice on the next few weeks!
