what are your go to’s to help you stay on track.
I tend to go for high protein skyr yoghurt, banana and berries.
celery and tzatziki but I get bored of it quite easily.
poached eggs.

I eat a lot of eggs .
Soup is good, spicy pepper / tomato , cauliflower cheese , broccoli Stilton.
I'm low carbing though, hence all the cheese but you could make a low calorie soup if you're counting calories.

I find baked beans filling and eat them with protein eg a pork steak for dinner tonight.

Watchkeys · 03/06/2023 11:12

Your yoghurt and banana thing is sugary... it might fill you up when you eat it, but it has less chance of keeping you full for long than something like meat with eggs or cheese.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 03/06/2023 11:25

For meals I tend to go with lean protein and lots of green veg

For snacks:

  • boiled eggs
  • beef jerky
  • Longley farms full fat cottage cheese (there is no suitable substitute)
  • full fat Greek yoghurt (the real stuff not 'Greek style')

If I just want to eat but not really hungry I go with things that take longer to eat and chew like carrot sticks

MrsSkylerWhite · 03/06/2023 11:26

Eggs, tuna, soups, roasted/mashed veg.

Boiled eggs.
Whole pot of Butternut squash soup.

Small banana.
Carrots sticks , peppers, celery, apple and humous.
Falafels.
Lean ham or chicken.

Quitelikeit · 03/06/2023 11:30

Sainsburys do a soup it is 430 cals (roughly) it’s red pepper and lentils. It’s 600grams it will fill you

NeverendingCircus · 03/06/2023 11:32

Roast chicken with the skin off.
wholewheat couscous mixed with masses of finely chopped parsley and mint so it's not really carby.

Poached eggs on wholemeal toast

Watermelon

Skyr with frozen blueberries

Carrot and ginger soup made with carrots, celery, leeks or white onions, garlic and ginger, a bit or coriander and cumin, veg stock and a splash of OJ or lemon juice. Just boil them all together and puree.

Peppers, mild chillis etc, puts you off eating too much too.

Fuckstix · 03/06/2023 11:43

Try shiritaki noodles- I love them with a sesame sauce or cooked longer in a tomato and veg pasta style sauce. Very low cal and very filling but need plenty of flavour.

DrMarciaFieldstone · 03/06/2023 11:47

eggs, fage yoghurts, feta salad, frozen grapes, carrots and Homous, chickpea and vegetable curries, stir fries with lots of beansprouts with lean meat/prawns, chicken and broccoli with Katsu sauce (mayflower is lighter)

AlwaysGreen · 03/06/2023 12:21

Volume eating vegetables (especially salad & greens)
Cottage cheese, tuna, tofu, egg whites, prawns
Drinking at least 2-3l water
Skyr or protein yoghurts but I prefer greek yoghurt (2 or 5%)

JulieHoney · 03/06/2023 12:25

A poached egg on a grilled field mushroom is one of my favourites.

Also hot and spicy lentil soup - lentils, onions, veg stock, dried chilli flakes and lemon juice added at the end. Filling, zingy and has Vitamin C.

Dogbasket · 03/06/2023 13:54

Came on to say big mushroom (portobello or field) with an egg on top,(@JulieHoney beat me to it! incredibly filling, add a mound of lightly steamed spinach.

Diedre44 · 12/06/2023 12:45

I find these really filling, very satisfying, often struggle to finish the pot.

sharptoothlemonshark · 20/02/2024 18:31

Oranges - citrus fruit in general. Partly because peeling it takes such a long time it makes me feel like I am snacking for a lot longer

Medjoul date stuffed with a pecan 👍☘️🌟

Gettingbysomehow · 20/02/2024 19:00

I find pink lady apples stave off hunger and a binge. I seem to be getting through a lot of them.

CanteringAlong · 20/02/2024 19:18

I have this problem as I need to lose weight but take medication which gives me increased appetite and weight gain!
