Ozempic Help

Hi I started Ozempic 13 days ago so have had 2 injections so far

I was on Saxenda for a few months before that but with working shifts I was finding it hard to inject at the same time each day.

Since starting Ozempic I've been a lot more hungry and had zero side effects. I started on the 0.25mg and wonder if I should have started on the 0.5mg as my body was already used to Saxenda.

When I look at my pen it looks to me like there is still a lot of liquid left for only having 2 more doses left. Does this look normal?

That looks pretty full to me. I took my fourth dose today and the grey plunger is half way up the clear bit on mine. I think each pen has 1.5m in it so 0.25 wouldn’t make much of a dent.

Hi thanks for the reply

I'm confused though because it says 4 doses per pen so I thought it would last 4 weeks then? Am I taking it wrong?

Sorry if I seem thick just confused lol

I think there’s more than four doses in the pen. I’ve bought extra needles to use up what’s left in each pen.

I'm on my first pen still, 0.25 dose, and I am on week 7 and still using it...reckon I've got another two doses left still. I was confused and surprised by how much liquid was in the pen, also. I'm just going to keep going until it's empty. I have my next pen waiting but no point to start on it when there are doses left in this one.

Yes I also bought some extra needles. You can get them on amazon, needles for diabetes pens, just check they are the same size as the ones you are using (mine are 4mm)

You’re not being thick, lots of people have said the same on the main Ozempic threads. The fact is that you get at least 2 extra doses out of the 0.25mg pen that they don’t tell you about. You can either continue on 0.25 or even go up to 0.5mg after 4 weeks on 0.25mg, using that same pen. Just need to buy extra needles from Amazon or a pharmacy.

I may be wrong as it’s a while since I have used Ozempic now but aren’t you only supposed to use the pen for 6 weeks unless you are storing it in a fridge?

Hopinonadream · 01/06/2023 11:23

@Twiglets1 mine is stored in the fridge
