Pharmacy Planet Ozempic - Have I been scammed?

17 replies

PinkStarFish15 · 22/05/2023 17:57

Hi,

I ordered a 0.25 Ozempic pen from Pharmacy Planet last Friday, the prescription was approved on the Sunday but by Weds I hadn't received any dispatch details so I emailed them. They came back the same day to say due increased demand it was taking longer to get the orders out but they definitely did had stock.

Still no update by today so I emailed them again to ask if they could give me any idea when I can expect to receive my order and they came back straight away and said they would check and let me know by the end of the day - I haven't heard anything else from them today.

I've checked TrustPilot and it looks like they might be accepting orders when they don't have stock, so now I'm not sure if I should just ask for a refund and try somewhere else or sit it out given how hard it is to get hold now?

I had the same panic but I got mine only a couple of days later.

They were responsive to my email and expedited my delivery.

Oh that's reassuring thank you, do you mind me asking how long you had to wait after ordering for it to arrive please?

It was a week. Ordered on a Friday and they were delivered the following Friday.

I didn't choose the fast delivery but when I emailed them they changed it to the faster delivery.

Can you email them again?

Yeah I'll give them another email now. They did say they would send 24 delivery but couldn't say when.

They are being responsive, it's just a worry when there are so many scams at the moment, I just panicked a bit

I panicked too. In fact when I got the pen I compared it and the box very closely with my current pen. But it looks legit.

Warning, ozempic is to treat diabetes not a weight loss drug. You need to be on it for life as if you stop your blood sugar rises very fast and there has been at least one death from hyperglycemia following stopping taking it.

have you arranged to have your kidneys tested regularly? as you are at risk of kidney damage

Do you have a link for that? Any of it?

Where is your evidence to support this?

Surely that person must have been diabetic and not realised?

License for Ozempic is for diabetes treatment only.

Yes… it is prescribed for weight loss “off label.” Have you heard of that before? It’s a thing and also happens with other medicines 😊

toomuchfaster · 22/05/2023 21:32

@greylad I'm not commenting, I merely provided the information asked for. Off label use should be a last resort as Victoza is readily available.

User17865 · 22/05/2023 21:35

Mine arrived ok, although took a while. I also worried they didn’t actually have stock.

@User17865
Thank you, looks like I'll sit it out and wait.

@GettingStuffed
As the others have asked, do you have evidence for the claim that a person has died after using and stopping Ozempic as I did quite a lot of research and didn't come across anything like that?

@greylad I was asked to confirm that I understood the medicine was being prescribed off label, its made very clear there are risks. It not actually that uncommon for drugs to be used off label. Hormonal contraceptive is used for a variety of reasons and Viagra was initially a drug for angina - using drugs off license isn't always a bad thing 😉

I really was just asking about the legitimacy of a the company though as I was worried Id been scammed, with all respect I wasn't asking for opinions or expecting to defend my decision to buy it in the first place.

I think this should concern everyone - diabetics who actually need the drug to, you know, stay alive, are struggling to get hold of it. Diabetes UK has issued a warning. I couldn't take it to lose weight knowing I might be depriving someone who is actually ill.

There are some posters on these boards who seem to take the actions of strangers very personally.

Hopefully it’ll arrive soon for you.
