Calorie Deficit

Hi. I’m worried I’ve messed up.

I’m following a diet plan which is designed for convenience and to get me into healthy eating habits for a couple of months. I’m also exercising. I’m hoping to lose about 15 pounds.

I’m burning between 2,000 to 2,500 calories a day depending on whether I’ve been for a run. I’ve been doing it for 2 weeks and lost a few pounds.

I was really hungry this evening, so decided to add up the calories I’ve eaten today to see what it comes in at. I was really shocked to find that I’m only consuming around 800 calories a day…no wonder I’m hungry!

I know this calorie deficit is too big but have I really messed up my metabolism do you think? I know that it can sort of shut down and slow down / stop weight loss altogether. Am I overthinking this?

I probably need to explain a bit more. I’m doing Diet Chef as I really needed something convienient to kick me off - this means my breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are pre-prepared and I can just grab them. I thought that the 3 meals plus snack come in at roughly 1200 calories a day so I never bothered to count them (thought that was the whole point). I now realise that I should have been adding in more dairy, fruit, veg and the occasional slice of bread.

that metabolism wrecking claim is utter nonsense ridiculous bollocks, you know that, right?

The real problem is what you're describing is unsustainable. Try to eat enough you're not frantic for food.

I honestly didn’t know that but was hoping for that answer. Thank you, I’m definitely upping it from tomorrow.
