We’re off our on bank holiday Monday, and I was going to have a cheat day, but I’ve also got a bbq on Saturday so that’s going to be my cheat day instead and I can’t afford two cheat days!

I need healthy, yummy picnic snack ideas while I watch my children and partner eat their sarnies and crisps! 😭

Nothing high calorie or unhealthy about a sandwich if made thoughtfully.

So whole meal medium sliced bread, roast chicken and salad with a light margarine spread, some salt and pepper should be tasty, healthy and low calorie.

Take some nice chopped fruit, grapes, melon, kiwi etc in Tupperware.

Roast chicken drumsticks.
Fruit cup salad.
Mini tomatoes.
Sparkling water with a tbsp fruit juice to flavour it.
Thinly sliced cucumber salad with dill.

Ah thanks all, that potato salad does look lovely!

I could make a wholemeal wrap. I’ve never been a big bread person to be honest so I won’t take a sandwich. I do love chicken drumsticks though so that’s a good idea!

Spanish tortilla with potato, onion and peppers
Homemade coleslaw with less mayo
Houmous, veggie sticks
Salads of your choice: Greek with feta, Nicoise with runa and green beans, Waldorf with celery and apple

Roast some vegetables, drop them into a muffin tray and fill up with egg. Stick 'em in the oven at 180 until they're firm, and let them cool. Brilliant travel snack.
