Spanx / belly sucking / chub rub recommendations

I'm losing weight very slowly but not as successfully as I would like. I have a wedding to go to in June and will be a high 14 low 16 in the more generous brands.
I tried a dress on today and hated myself and all my lumps and bumps. So I need some hold your guts and back fat in big pants and wondered if you have any recommendations.
I was looking at Snag chub rub pants. I bought some Snag tights and they're comfortable but they're not designed to hold you in.
I've had contour wear things before (Debenhams I think) but often find them difficult to wrestle myself into and whilst they do what they're supposed to they often also roll and become uncomfortable.
So yeah, any recommendations? Thanks.

Snag Chub Rub pants don't really hold in much, but better for the silhouette than normal knickers.
The best I've had were spanx but that's 10+ years ago and I was a size 12/14. I had the ones that were so high they hooked around the middle bit of the bra which was awkward as hell but stopped the roll at the top. I think that style has since been replaced with high spanx knickers with shoulder straps.
Honestly I find it so awkward and uncomfortable I'd rather not wear control underwear. The exception is firm tights, love the feel and skimming effect. But I'm guessing you want bare legs in summer.

I would usually wear tights but was thinking the chub rub shorts might be a good alternative.
