I’m so bloody massive and ashamed

The worst thing is I can’t do much about it at the moment as I’m 33 weeks pregnant (and I know - obviously you gain weight in pregnancy but stay with me, no way is all this baby!) but my god.

I am 16 stone 5lbs, probably only about 5’2 in height. I’m just vast, there’s no shape to me, you can’t really tell I’m pregnant even. I’d have liked to have taken photos to chart the size of my bump but no point! (Honestly there isn’t.)

I am also suffering in pregnancy as a result: bad back and straining joints and so on.

I lost a lot of weight last time but it’s slowly gone back on then and how. I really want to do better for my children and for me Sad Posting here hoping people may understand!

Oh that's miserable 😣 sorry to hear you're feeling like this. I'd definitely encourage you to take photos though, this is a time you can't get back (unless you have another baby but bear with me).

39 weeks here and struggling with daily movements and tasks too. I still try to walk 10k steps per day, mainly after meals. I was overweight before falling pregnant and now I'm technically obese. Fun times.

Do you have any other complications? I have GDM and since my diagnosis I've been living on the "gym bro" diet of chicken, broccoli and wholemeal rice or pasta for almost every meal. Consequently my weight gain has slowed dramatically.

Could you try that even if you don't have GD?

Thank you! I don’t THINK I have GD - I actually had my glucose test last Monday and they haven’t got back to me yet so tentatively hoping I’m out of the woods.

That’s a really good suggestion though. I’m struggling with healthy meals generally.
