Weight loss chat

A space to talk openly about weight loss journeys and challenges. Mumsnet hasn't checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. You may wish to speak to a medical professional before starting any diet.

Have you lost a lot of weight and would you be brave enough to help me out?

I'm currently following the Slimming World plan and am finding my willpower very rocky at the moment. The weight I have lost is very gradually creeping back on again.
I was just wondering if there are any mumsnetters out there willing to post pictures of their before and after weight losses. I need something to kick start me back into action. I do look at the Slimming World magazines and they show pictures of successful members and I find they do motivate me.
Hopefully I'll be able to add myself to the pictures one day

Sparkler - I am not sure how I go about posting pictures, but I just wanted to reply to your post. I have lost almost 2 stone since September and I am also now going through a rocky time. The last thing I want to do at the moment is pile it all on again. So perhaps we should try to support each other through this difficult time. I stick my 'fat photos' on the fridge, biscuit tin and anywhere else where I am likely to head for food - this helps a little, otherwise I try my best to think positive. I feel fantastic when old clothes are too big, I feel special when I can buy something I would never have dreamt of wearing last year, I feel great when people comment on how much better I look, and I feel loved when hubby pays me attention , Why would I want to go back to how I was before. I still have a little way to go, and even longer to maintain but I am sure we can do this together.

You'll have to wait a year or two for me to lose the weight before you can have a picture from me !

But I just wanted to ask if you had thought about giving yourself a bit of a change and switching to the Weightwatchers core plan. It's quite similar to Slimming World. The rules are 3 meals a day from a list of food (think green and red foods all on one list), only fruit or veg in between and 21 points a week for extras (you can earn extra points by exercise. I've only been doing it for 10 days but it is so easy I wish I had done it ages ago

I've got a couple of friends who have tried doing SW for ages, got demotivated so changed to this and found that as it was new it gave them a boost. And have another friend who was doing WW and has now joined SW, just for a change. Again she's more motivated now - I think when you've been doing something on and off for ages it is good to have a change.
