Fast 800 for a quick head start? Anyone done it?

Any meal suggestions? I don’t fancy spending money on the book if I’m honest. I get that you’ve just got to fast and eat under 800 calories during eating times a day.

but what meals can I make that are easy to make (alongside separate meals for my children and partner)

I know the fast 800 isn’t the best way to go about weight loss but I’m getting married in September, so I have until about July to drop as much as I can before I go for my dress fitting!

So I’m going to use the fast 800 until drop some weight quickly, then move on to a healthier number of calories while still fasting to maintain/slowly lose more if needed.

any tips?! 🥲

That’s considerably less than a 2 year olds recommended calorie intake. It is absolutely not sustainable and will likely result in a bingo making the whole idea pointless. Give yourself a realistic goal and know that it takes time. It doesn’t come overnight

As mentioned in my OP I’m not looking for this to be sustainable or long term. I only plan to do it for a few weeks/a month or so just to get ahead. If I can see weight coming off quickly I’ll be more likely to continue eating healthier/smaller portions etc. Slow weight loss won’t work for me because I’m too impatient 😂

If slow weight loss won't work for you you're destined to put it all back on as quick it came off.

You don't even need to do anything daft for the first stone to melt away in no time at all. Up your activity levels, work out your BMR and aim to consume as close to that amount of calories as you can. Fast 800 works, of course it does, but controlled starvation diets cause huge rebounds and you'll likely be bigger on your wedding day than you are now.

I did it from January for about 6 weeks to get weight off quickly for an event. Worked well and ive maintained my weight since.

I've done it since the second week of January - so far have lost 2 stone. I started off very strict but once I lost 1.5 stone I have switched to 4 strict days and three much more relaxed and am now more steadily losing 1 lb a week. I have yo-yo'd between 12 - 13 stone for years and can honestly say I have never felt better than I do now. I plan to lose another half a stone doing it the way I am now and I will be very happy doing it this way. A typical fast 800 day for me is:
eat two meals, one no earlier than midday and the other no later than 8 pm so I have the 16 hour fasting window. Today i have had Chinese Pork Balls in Miso Broth (308 cals/28g protein/7.5 carbs) and will have an omelette and salad for tea. I drink black coffee in the morning and drink 2 l of water. It's honestly very good, you don't feel hungry because of the protein and I find it has stopped my grazing and snacking, which is why I became overweight. I would thoroughly recommend you buy the book though, as it makes it all very simple and explains the science behind it. Good luck!

It does really work short term yes, but its not eat anything up to 800 kcal, it's basically a (soft) keto.... maybe vv low carb is more appropriate. You could do with understanding how it works really, and the book does come with meal plans and recipes.
Having said that I don't really want to further line M Mosely's pockets any either - maybe order it from a library? Or second hand?

Fast 800 is absolutely NOT a case of eating 800 calories a day.

You can buy the book from as little as £3.60 used on Amazon if you actually want to do it.

It's not Keto, it's a Mediterranean style moderate carb want of eating and the 800 calories is advised as a quick start for an absolute MAX of 12 weeks for the majority of people.

There are many intricacies to the way of eating and many free recipes online if you Google.

It's a fab way of life if you cope without artificial sugar!
