Damage Control

Had a great start to the year. Have lost 4kg since beginning of February (I have another 4kg to go). Mainly with 16:8, cutting down on wine and making better choices.

I don’t know what happened but this Easter weekend (and for me it started last Wednesday) I have totally fallen off the wagon. I planned on fasting at least a few days. But by Saturday I wasn’t counting calories any more. Lots of alcohol, crisps and chocolate later- this morning I am up 3kg!!

How can I limit the damage I have caused to my weight loss? At least I feel bloated and horrible and therefore fully motivated to get back on it today!

Can you get out for a walk this evening? Or do an home workout? Something to get you back in the right headspace. And make sure you start back fasting at your normal time this evening.
a lot of that weight will be water retention- if you get back on the wagon it’ll go down in a few days
best of luck - you can do it!!!!

Draw a line under it and move on. Tomorrow is a new day

Its not real weight gain, it will be water weight, mainly stored in your liver

Start again and just carry on. Dont try to overcompensate by going mad because you'll end up feeling deprived (certainly because you've had a lot of sugary carbs so your body will try to crave it) and then will eat more

Just stick to what you were doing before the weekend

Yup, this is it.

I was really annoyed about the weight I'd put on over lockdown and had a fitness wobble. I then put on even more than I had throughout the entirety of lockdown. It's taken me until now to properly see my abs again.

How I wished I'd just ignored the lockdown blip and got back on the wagon before I did the most damage.

Tomorrow's another day x
Ramp up the exercise and think about what's going in your mouth and you will get back on track

Thanks for the encouragement :)

You are right, today is a new day. I am surprised how just a few days of eating and drinking crap has made me feel so sluggish. Is good motivation to carry on with what I was doing before Easter, instead of thinking fuck it and opening another pack of crisps!

I dragged myself to the gym after a 13 hour day and realised in the changing rooms that I'd forgot my trainers. Much huffing and puffing ensued. 😩
