hi
im overweight and im 5ft 5 and 16.5 stone size 18-20 like many i have tried all sorts of ways to lose weight but fail each time

anyway i now am diabetic 2 and really need to sort my weight out so lucky for me i have a perscription on the NHS for Ozempic just waiting for the chemist to do it though i have been told stock around the country is low

there is another thread but its way ahead so if anybody wants to post here feel free

how are people finding it?

i hear some feel sick does your portion size decrease as in you cant eat as much?

anything you would have liked to have known in advance of starting it

we all decide right or wrong the use of the drug,i started this thread for others to post how they are doing etc

with all due respect Twiglet you have provided information and people will do as they want,it may be a good idea to make your own thread as this is not what the post was inteneded and i think put people of

so please start your own thread with the facts as you have said your piece but now i would like it to go back to a support thread

Sorry if I have upset you @catskittens my intention is not to put people off trying Ozempic if they are a good candidate for it but rather to urge them to do proper research into it as it is a serious and expensive drug. It shouldn't put people off to be told some truths about it, as they should already know them or at least be open minded about hearing the facts.

I don't think I've said anything too awful to warrant being told to leave your thread and start my own one. I don't really have anything to add to what I've said anyway but this isn't like a WhatsApp group - you can't remove people just because you don't like their opinion. There are others on here who have also expressed that they are worried about how some people are starting Ozempic without the most basic knowledge of how it works. That is not the same as being unsupportive. I wish everyone a successful outcome but they are more likely to achieve that if they are well informed & realistic from the start.

catskittens · 29/04/2023 20:04

yes you have provided some really good advice and i for one have learnt some things my diabetic nurse did not cover and thank you for that,It's just we dont need to keep going over it and im hoping it is not stopping people posting as they may think if they say the wrong thing they will be jumped on and put of posting and this is not what i had intended

Regarding your own thread you seem to have the knowledge and a thread about your experience and findings i would of thought would be a one stop shop for finding out more detail which imo would be more helpful and easy to find

i for one would like a thread which i can go to to ask more in depth ??? and would be easy to find, thats my opinion and im sticking to that this thread was started to support and see how others are finding it,to have a grumble or find it is going well not for making feel they cant be honest and will be judged

just out of interest dont you think your own thread would be more helpful??

No I don't because there already exist threads in Weight loss chat which offer in depth advice on Ozempic from people who have several months experience of using it, we don't need another one.

I don't know what you mean by we don't need to keep going over it - this is the first time I have posted my opinion on this thread? I'm more than happy to move on and I think that we should.

This thread is a supportive thread, I understand that. But as people progress with Ozempic, problems will naturally arise from time to time so you will find yourselves discussing negatives as well as positives, just like on the more established Ozempic threads. And I think it's better to be well informed, but ultimately it's individual choice if people choose to do that or prefer just to buy the drug without knowing anything about how it works.

Really unimpressed.

juniper took payment for my next dosage a week ago and I’ve had absolutely nothing about delivery since. I’m supposed to go onto .5 tomorrow. I ordered some of the needles I’d seen recommended to use to finish the extra in the .25 pen last Wednesday but they don’t arrive until next week.

This is so frustrating as I’ll have to start again. I’d not recommend Juniper!

Peridot1 · 02/05/2023 08:59

That’s not good @LittleDitto - have you contacted them? I haven’t used them myself but I haven’t heard of any issues with them and lots of people on here seem to use them.

LittleDitto · 02/05/2023 09:37

I emailed them yesterday afternoon, but not had anything back yet.

catskittens · 02/05/2023 12:01

I was told there was a big problem with getting hold,im lucky in the sense that i get mine through the NHS and my nurse sent a perscription for 2 new pens and my chemist got hold not sure if its NHS they have a differrent supply which makes it easier to get hold of but thats no help to you @LittleDitto · hope it gets resolved quickly

ok weighed at the doctors down 1 kg thought it might be more as had been more active but a loss is a loss and its going down so pleased its downwards

I hadn’t realised there was a shortage. I wonder why they take your money and don’t send it then?

LittleDitto · 03/05/2023 16:07

Been told that the order is dispatched today. I really don’t think that’s good enough! It means my dosage will be 2 days late

Peridot1 · 03/05/2023 16:13

I get it’s frustrating @LittleDitto but I assume it’s been out of their control with the shortages. And unfortunately they may get worse before they get better.

I have just started Ozempic 0.5mg & I feel like it’s not working! I was previously on Saxenda & I’d been taking that for just over a year & lost 4st! I’ve heard about Ozempic & still want to lose more weight so thought I’d change over to it, I don’t know if it’s my mind tricking me into thinking Ozempic is not working because I’m not injecting every day like I was with the Saxenda or it is working & I just need to give it more time! I know it’s literally my first injection, my 2nd one will be Saturday & then after the 4th I’ll move up to 1mg. I just wanted some advice, reassurance or anything really to let me know I’m not going mad & it will work??

Lostinalibrary · 03/05/2023 19:14

I actually don’t think that’s good enough - especially as they are still taking sign ups. I think private pharmacies starting to sign people up to a treatment plan - knowing they potentially can’t fulfil should be reported to GPHC. They are profiteering hugely knowing they will have supply issues which means after the initial dose - people will have to stop treatment. That’s not ethical. The correct thing to do would be to stop adverting, stop selling pens at £200 a pop and support the people they have on plan.

I'm mid way through my second 0.5 week now and feel absolutely no different to normal, no reduction in appetite and no weight loss. Will keep going to the end of the pen but am a little gutted. Anyone else take a while for it to start working?

mumwheresmyribena · 05/05/2023 10:52

@summerlovingvibes That's pretty normal though, it's the super-responders who see immediate results that are the oddities. Because of Ozempic's half-life it can take between 8 and 12 weeks to build to a steady state which is where it should be to start working as intended. Have you listened to the Zoë podcast interview about Ozempic, it goes into this. I definately recommended it to learn about how it works.

summerlovingvibes · 05/05/2023 10:54

Hi, thanks. Yes I have listened to the Zoe podcast which was great. I guess it's just that slight feeling of deflated as I'm close with someone who has had amazing results (relative) and am still waiting for mine. Just being impatient! Trying to keep motivated!

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 09/05/2023 19:24

Started 1st April and as of today have lost 15lbs which I'm happy with. No side effects other than a slight hunger reduction but it's definitely not a complete abolition of hunger just less of the gnawing feeling.
