My husband gets very confused because I can leave chocs and biscuits lying around for months. I still have a net of chocolate coins from Xmas 😂 but I've noticed that I'm not even tempted to look at the nuts or babybels

@catskittens take a look at the couch to fitness programme. They have the website below or a YouTube channel with a couch to fitness playlist.

9 week programme, 3 workouts a week starting easier and getting harder. They have 3 instructors in each video showing adaptations for different abilities.

I don’t want to jinx it but I’m doing really well. Day 6 today after 1st jab. Eating between 1000 and 1200 calories per day and rarely feel hungry. Like you @catskittens I have dodgy knees. Mine is because of the amount of weight I’m carrying I’m sure. I’ve decided to only weigh once a month because a) I don’t want to be a slave to the scales and b) I don’t want to be disappointed. I generally tend to lose weight really slowly and it can get disheartening at times. How is everyone else doing?

caringcarer · 07/04/2023 16:52

I've ordered some needles from a medical site. So now I will be able to use the extra medication in the 0.25mg pen. I'm now on my second week. It's going well. I'm usually so crap at dieting but don't feel hungry. In the first week I lost 2kg. I know some of it will be water but I'm still pleased. I too have a bad back and knees, and I'm desperately hoping that as I get lighter the pain will ease. Hoping I can stay strong over Easter I'm cooking roast turkey.

catskittens · 08/04/2023 00:50

well done all and a loss is a loss n my book
glad things are going well
next jab tomorrow

Wow! Amazing! You must be so pleased. I have just injected my 2nd pen. My pen still looks full so I may go down the route of ordering extra needles like a lot of others.

Morning all. Weighed this morning and I've lost 1.9kg (around 4lbs) on my first week. My diet hasn't been perfect by any stretch of the imagination but I am definitely eating less than usual and making better choices the majority of the time so I'm happy with that.

I took my second dose last night before bed as I think that'll be easier than trying to remember to do it when I'm up at 5am on a Saturday morning for work 😄.

Still no major side effects, the odd moment of nausea which passes within seconds, some burping (not sulphur) and I'm not as 'regular' as I was but a walk in the park compared with metformin.

That’s brilliant! Well done 👏
Your side effects sound the same as mine. Mild and tolerable. I am now questioning my decision to only weigh once a month. I have to go to the Dr’s surgery to weigh as I don’t have scales at home. I would be on them every day if I did!
im really pleased people are getting good results. It gives me hope.

catskittens · 10/04/2023 01:44

well done on the losses you must feel great

im gonna weigh at my doctors and i have to have a range of extra blood tests (very low white cell count) so will deffo weigh thiursday

i do think i need a higher dose as after 2 days i feel pre injection i took 2 last week and had mild nausea but very managable

caringcarer · 10/04/2023 02:04

@FatAgainItsLettuceTime, wow you must be feeling great. Gold ⭐ star to you. I am aiming for 2kg a week for first month. Managed it on week 1 and on target for week 2.

dresshelp43 · 10/04/2023 02:05

I’m on it. Have been for three months. No bad side effects and have lost weight 😃

Eatentoomanyroses · 10/04/2023 08:21

I don’t think it’s working for me. I’m on 0.5mg and I feel a bit nauseated the day after taking the shot but then fine. Appetite still huge. I wonder if 1mg would be better? I’ve heard that in America people really taking 2mg

i know what you mean 0,25 is ok for max 3 days then no effect and feel perfectly fine so last week on day 3/4 took another 0.25 and that done the trick

im on it through the NHS and have noticed a big drop in my blood sugars for that alone it is worth me being on it

can you ask your gp about the amount or are you on a private scrip

No weight loss yet and half way through second week. I think I'm going to take a dose today (2 days early) as I feel like it's really not doing anything for me and very few side effects except a bi of nausea. No change in appetite yet. I know it takes a while to build up which is fine, but I def feel like I will need a bigger dose for any impact.

@catskittens did anyone advise / recommend your second / sooner shot? Or did you just decide?

AutisticLegoLover · 11/04/2023 13:12

Before anyone deviates from the recommended dosage I strongly suggest you read this all the way through. It explains how it works and everything you need to know so that you aren't left thinking it doesn't work or you need to take it early or whatever. It's very worrying that some users have so little knowledge about the drug they are taking. This podcast is with one of the doctors who worked on the clinical trials and development of the drug with the company who makes it.

Eatentoomanyroses · 11/04/2023 13:51

Spoke too soon after I said my appetite was massive yesterday. I ate some Easter eggs and crisps that I should have and have been awake the WHOLE night with a bad stomach ache, nausea and eye of needle diarrhoea. Do not cheat on these injections

Eatentoomanyroses · 11/04/2023 13:52

Shouldn’t have

mumwheresmyribena · 11/04/2023 15:21

@Eatentoomanyroses That's not how it works though. Appetite suppression is merely a side-effect of the 3 ways it does work.

Also the drug's half-life is 7 days, while it's fine according to the safety data to occasionally take a dose up to 2 days earlier, if you continue to do that you'll never work up to a steady blood plasma level. Your body especially your endocrine and kidneys and liver will be working overtime to cope with peaks and troughs. At the best you'll be producing some very expensive wee, at worse running the risk of damaging those systems (the research and safety data was based on 7day dosing)

Eatentoomanyroses · 11/04/2023 15:28

@mumwheresmyribena sorry what’s not how it works?

mumwheresmyribena · 11/04/2023 16:19

Appetite suppresion isn't how it works. Your post above says .Appetite still huge @Eatentoomanyroses. Appetite suppression is a side-effect of Ozempic rather that its main function (I posted a pic of its 3 routes of working). If your appetite isn't stunted, that didn't mean it's not working. If you think about it, appetite suppression could be quite dangerous for Ozempic's target group, type 2 diabetics and for anyone on it long-term. The aim is to still hear the hunger cues but then eat high protein, good fat and lower carb food according to their own website.
