Best way to lose weight fast

I’m aware that trying to lose weight too quickly isn’t healthy/recommended & methods to do so aren’t usually sustainable, but I have an event in 2 weeks time that I’d really like to lose 2-3kgs for & any tips on how I can do that as quickly as possible would be appreciated. For now I’m thinking of trying the egg diet for a week, combined with 30 minutes of moderate exercise a day (less intensive HIIT & stationary cycling for example) In additional to this I’m walking at least 10k steps a day. I don’t usually exercise much so I’m sure this should help me to shed some of the pounds. After 2-3 weeks, I’ll be switching to a more sustainable/long term plan because I need to lose a total of around 7kgs. Tips for a longer term weight loss plan would be great too. I’m considering trying the Joe Wicks 90 day plan but I’m not great with sticking to anything unfortunately. Might give it a try though. If anyone’s done it, let me know how it worked out for you. Thanks!

Look at Exante, 800cals a day, shakes and other meal replacements for 600cals and 200cals of regular food, on average a stone off a month. Obviously not for a long term but for speed.

Thank you! Haven’t heard of it before…will research it now.

Why eggs out of all the random options? And you know a large amount of weight in that time will be almost exclusively water?

Ypu said weight not fat so I would say a very low calories diet such as Habitual, please make sure you get the all clear from your GP though, they aren't for everyone and not compatible with some medical issues.

Check out OMAD (one meal a day) they have a forum specifically for it on Reddit with more info.

OMAD works for me. I do OMAD during the week and eat more normally during the weekends. Lost lots of weight and kept it down. I feel perfectly healthy on it, but I am sure it wouldn’t work for everyone.

danni0509 · 18/03/2023 14:48

@StaceyMeloni I do omad too, i sometimes do other IF (eat between 12-6pm) I’ve lost 4 stone doing these combos.

When you do omad do you take electrolytes? I’ve started again and keep getting headaches, feeling dizzy.

Start fasting. Watch Jason Fung on youtube.

MrsRobinStrike · 18/03/2023 15:09

Skip breakfast. Eat lunch and dinner. Protein heavy, easy on the carbs. Not just eggs!

Harrysmummy…because the egg diet works well for most people. I researched it after someone recommended it for quick weight loss. The majority of people who try it have success with it…Its not recommended for long period…3-10 days max.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I’m in good health thankfully so happy to try the egg diet as a short term fix and then move on to something more sustainable. I’m not sure if I can do OMAD but I’ve researched IF and I think I can probably give 18:6 or at least 16:8 a go. I know someone who’s lost 10kgs over a few months from OMAD…she started with 16:8 and worked her way to OMAD. I’m thinking that 16:8 combined with regular exercise might do the trick long term.
