So for the last two days (and will continue today) I’ve been tracking my food a bit differently. I’ve really restricted starchy carbs for a start, no bread/pasta/rice etc. Then for my food, I’ve used my nutracheck app but instead of adding breakfast/lunch/dinner etc, I’ve used the different meal slots to track fats/protein, veg, fruit, and extras (I suppose like what the old slimming world would describe as Syns- eg some sweet chilli sauce , or a yoghurt etc) - it’s helped me in two ways, one I can see much more clearly what my diet actually is and where my calories are going (eg. I don’t eat nearly enough veg), and 2) it’s made me actively try to address that balance. I was aiming for 800 calories worth of meat and fat and then the rest as fruit and veg, with a couple of extras being realistic and necessary for enjoyment. After doing this for 2 days I’ve lost 4lbs 😱- yes, I know that’s mostly water, but the water does have to go somewhere doesn’t it? I did have a red wine last night as well.

So I will continue this today. I’m going out for a run with my friend (I’ve managed a 5 day workout streak so far, either a run or a class every day), and then my food will be:
— a very light breakfast of something protein after running,
— lunch will be leftover crispy mince stir fry with sweet chilli sauce (was dinner last night but dh didn’t eat it so I’m going to have it again!) and then for dinner I have an Asda chicken Schwarma kit which I’ll have with salad. I don’t think I’ll drink tonight as I feel quite headachey after wine yesterday.

I’ve also definitely been drinking more water, I have a 1.5l bottle and yesterday I refilled it as well so nearly 3l drunk.

I’d love to say I feel amazing and energised, but I don’t- I feel tired, a bit hungover, it’s been a very very long week, and I feel quite flat emotionally- but it’s been a rollercoaster few weeks anyway with our building work coming to a finish and starting a new job, and last week I was quite unwell with my dental issues which have carried on into this week.

I will be very very glad for this week to be over!

That's a great start, well done.

I'm not weighing at the moment, it leaves me a bit disheartened usually! But I am happy with my food choices the last few days, and been doing lots of walking.
I will probably weigh at the start of the month and see how it's all been going.

I'm feeling a little peevish and that I've been dieting for a week tomorrow and am apparently not skinny yet. How very unreasonable!

Morning everyone, happy Saturday! I had another good day yesterday, went for a run in the morning and then was pretty careful with my food all day. I’m really enjoying my new macro based tracking regime. I’ve been eating much more fruit and veg as a result. Last night I had a cider and one glass of cava.

this morning I weighed in at 159.9, which is a double victory as I have been trying/wanting to get under 160 for a long time! Plus that means a loss of 3.5lbs this week and a total loss this year of 10lbs.

my plan for the day is more of the same. I’m going to make some paleo pancakes for breakfast with fruit salad, and then have a light lunch (probably soup), dinner will be chicken Kiev or fish portion (freezer type food!) and lots of veg. (This week I bought the packs of green veg like tenderstem broccoli, sugar snap peas, asparagus- they are expensive, but actually as there’s no waste it’s not actually as bad as it could be.) no run today but I might do a weights workout and/or some yoga, alongside a busy day cleaning and tidying my house!

tomorrow I am doing a longer run with my friend, maybe 12-14km and then have ny mum coming for md lunch (sandwiches and scones) - I’m going to do some trays of sandwiches with sandwich fillers and some little cakes. Hopefully this will be offset by the long run in the morning.

I think I need to choose one day and only weigh myself once a week, or I drive myself nuts with checking

That's why I've hidden mine until the end of the month, otherwise I think about it every morning and then get sad when nothings changed!

How was everyone's weekend?
I didn't do too badly, we did get pizza on Saturday night but I didn't go overboard, although haven't done as much exercise as I'd have liked but back to it this morning with a 5km walk, trying to get it under an hour each time.

How's everyone getting on?

I had a 1lb loss this week which wasn’t bad considering I’ve been quite pmt ish this week and had at least a couple of days where I ended up eating chocolate. I’ve had a lunch out and wine today but back on track tomorrow. I have planned all my meals and workouts, ordered my shopping to collect after work tomorrow and I am ready for the week!

how are you @WhoWants2Know ?
