Anyone using the weight loss injections?

I’ll preface this by saying I’m massively overweight, but have been working on it recently and down 10 pounds (only another 100 to go!) Anyway, I saw the doctor before Christmas and he mentioned weight loss medication that he can prescribe. With it being all over the press recently, I’ve booked an appointment and done some research. But now I’m trying to get some real person opinions. If you’re taking any medication, what, has it worked, how do you feel? Any opinions (positive or negative!) are appreciated, thanks!

hi there
i have tried orlistat which is first line treatment nhs. It really didn't help me at all in fact it had no effects pos or neg.
You can see there is a very long running thread about Ozempic which is the jab that newspapers etc are referring to.
This is for type 2 diabetes but is also prescribed off label for weight loss.
As far as i know this is only available via private prescriptions and is an expensive and potentially long term treatment.
It is also a drug so does have potential side effects including some serious ones. So it would be great to have the chance to discuss with your GP and have some baseline bloods taken.
take a look at the threads about Ozempic to get a feel for what people are experiencing

I haven’t heard if it, and might be going on a tangent here. But I tried a radio-frequency treatment on my face and it did work. I know some people use it on their body so it could be a (pricy) way to get results

@orangelotus yes that’s one of the ones I was looking at, and saxsendra (probably not spelt right there!). I’ll have a look through the threads, thanks!

@smashin ive not heard of that, but I’m after a full body weight loss thing so not sure it sounds right for me?

I've been using Saxenda for 3 weeks now. I've lost 10lbs. It's massively decreased my appetite and I've not experienced any unwanted side effects to date. I'm still on a fairly low dose, don't plan to increase until I feel I need to.

Have a look at the Day 1 on Saxenda thread for more.
