I am 46, gradually put on weight over the last 3 years, now just over 12st and feel horrible. Would love to lose half a stone in the next 3 weeks before a trip I have coming up. Failed so many times recently really need a kick to get motivated, any tips? Thanks

The Fast 800 diet. Read the book, it’s very short.

Thanks, have read about that, but can’t imagine that would be enough to keep me going. But I guess will not lose the weight without making changes.

Fast800 is not as hard as you’d think. I did it whilst cycling to work and breastfeeding a toddler and I still had energy to do these things. I wanted to eat because I love food but the recipes are so filling I wasn’t actually hungry.

It's quite common to 6-7lbs in the first week on Keto. Cut out all carbs & sugars. Drink lots of water. Keep carbs to 20g or less. You'll feel like death for a couple days while your body goes through the Keto flu and carb withdrawals, but once you're out the other end it's so easy to stick to, and you'll definitely lose weight

Oh that’s encouraging, thanks. Looks like that’s the one then, just need a dose of motivation

Thanks. Silly question but does that mean no fruit at all, and even whole meal bread/ pasta is a no?

Well done for the 7lb, I’ve been failing for the last few years and feel like it’s now or never. Yes after 40 so much harder than 30s!

@Allthetoys no bread, nothing with any flour or grains of any kind. Fruit needs to be kept to a minimum. Berries are best. Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, and cranberries (not dried!).

I'm 40+ and have lost 3.5st in less than a year and have kept it off doing Keto.

Key thing is to really be prepared with all of your ingredients and foods so you're not left to cheat. Read up on it. There's a load of resources and some great YouTube videos.

Thanks, that’s interesting I will do some research tomorrow. Well done on your loss, that’s really good!
