Hi, I am just reaching out to see if anyone has had the Allurion/Elipse gastric ballon? Looking for feedback and reviews.

I had the allurion in 2021 and it did what it said on the tin.

Swallowing it and holding the tube in my mouth while the balloon was being inflated was a deeply unpleasant experience (even now if I think about doing it I will be sick), the first couple of days were absolutely awful but once my body got used to it being there it was fine (although I had a LOT of wind for the 4 months)

I lost 11kg which is about average (although I have a lot to lose so had hoped for more).

I don't specifically know when it was expelled, but I had one day where I was vomiting and had diarrhoea around the 4 month mark so suspect it was then

Overall? It is a lot of money for 11kg but I have never put it back on. If I were to do it again (which I won't) I'd probably pay more and go for the 12 month balloon that is inserted and removed via endoscopy

Thank you @user344567 this is so
helpful. The expense is concerning so it’s good to hear from others. I’m quite nervous about it going in and then it coming out again. Plus I hear of people of say they lost no weight, which I imagine is more down to them, but what if that’s me!!! 11kg is great, and more amazing that you’ve kept it off.

In the meantime I’ll keep doing my research and hopefully make a decision soon.
