Did running help you lose weight?

I’ve started running 3 weeks ago and am doing much better, I’ve been following a couch to 5k type thing.
Also watching what I’m eating, have lost a stone of baby weight already but 2 more to go 😵‍💫 did anyone find running really helped. I’m getting fitter (slowly) but I want to be thinner!!!

No. But it is so good for me in lots of ways and I want to lose weight in order to run faster so it is motivating for that reason and also because it makes me feel healthier so the diet follows (sometimes).

Annoyingly, the less you weigh, the fewer calories you use.

One thing I’d like to change is that I have really fat calves would be amazing if it helped with that!

Unlikely I'm afraid - running tends to bulk them up. Buying knee length boots is a nightmare!

For most people it's long term sustainable diet changes which resilt in sustainable weight loss. That usually means smaller portions of whatever you eat now. Running is great for heart health, sleep quality mental health etc. And being healthy helps you make positive changes. But its dietary changes that cause weight loss 90% of the time
