Getting back into shape after c-section

I had a c-section nearly a year ago, and I still have that “pouch/overhang” as well as my tummy in general just being flabby, with loads of loose wrinkly skin as my baby and bump were huge. What exercises could I try to get into better shape and tone up the tummy? I can’t really afford gym membership or a personal trainer unfortunately so ideally recommendations of YouTube workouts/apps etc that I can do at home is what I’m looking for please 😊

Tummy is mainly diet as you won't see the benefit of sit ups etc until you've lost some tummy fat.

Jessica Valante’s Pilates videos on You Tube are good and cater for all levels of fitness.

Walk every single day. Aim for 12,000 steps a day if you can.
Are you eating well? You need to focus on that.
Build up exercises from YouTube once you’ve nailed the food and the steps. There are lots of HIIT workouts which are great.

Body fit by Amy - search her post partum workouts. She’s got loads including some really gentle ones. She’s had two babies and I think the first was by C-section.

After pregnancy you have to be careful to strengthen your core - even if you lost the weight you could end up with a weak core after carrying a baby (that’s before we even get to a c section!) so have to work on that. I found some really basic core work necessary as I tried running and could feel my pelvic floor dropping. Once I did that I was fine.

Thanks everyone! Yes diet I think isn’t too bad, I’ve lost most of the weight itself and I’m happy with the rest of me but it’s just the tummy area that’s out of shape, but I’ll look into that again and then the specific exercise. Thanks!

The only thing that will fix loose and saggy skin is a tummy tuck. Diet and exercise will not fix loose skin.
