I’m giving up laziness for LENT šŸ˜‚

I have found my Fitbit and I am planning to use it to get me moving. The plan is to do some form of exercise every day. I did a YouTube Zumba video yesterday (my Fitbit says I burned 157 calories in 22 minutes) and today I walked to the park and back so my little one could play (my Fitbit says I burned 151 calories on the way there and 194 on the way back).
I know that diet is important too but I’ve decided to focus on getting back to exercising first as it doesn’t feel as hard even if it is tiring šŸ˜‚ I am also trying to eat less junk food/snacks but not having it as a main focus. Then after LENT I am hoping I will feel healthier so exercising will be easier then I can focus more on my diet šŸ¤ž

Well done. I’m doing similar!

I’ve had the Sweat app for ages but since putting on Covid weight and hitting peri etc I haven’t done bugger all exercise and I’m right back to square one. So the Kayla Itsines workouts and running I used to do are out and short gentle beginners workouts are in!

Yesterday I did beginners bodyweight circuits on Sweat and this evening I did a 20 min Latin/hip hop dance workout on pop sugar. I’m going to alternate cardio and bodyweight and have one active rest day where I’ll brisk walk for an hour and do a long stretching routine. I may even break out the mini trampoline that’s been stuffed in the junk room!

Diet-wise, I always cut out all treats and junk snacks for lent. I allow myself one square of proper dark chocolate because I eat it with a handful of walnuts and almonds, which is a much healthier snack and I’m trying to increase my omega 3 intake. Likewise, I allow myself 1/2tsp honey in some thick Greek yoghurt because it makes it palatable to have a nice dose of protein mixed with berries and sunflower/pumpkin/chia/flax seeds. But otherwise, I’m hauling myself off the sugar merry-go-round!

Good luck with your challenge!
