Sleeve surgery in Riga, Latvia

Just wondering if anyone has had a gastric sleeve done in Latvia. What was the process like? Would you recommend anywhere in particular?

I can't afford UK prices and think Latvia would be a good place to go. Turkey is cheaper but its also further away. I don't know how I'd feel on a plane for 5 and a half hours after surgery, whereas Riga is only about 2 and a half hours.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have not had any cosmetic surgery but medical care & dental care is very good in Latvia and to a much better standard than here.

Hi there, I went there a few months ago for a gastric sleeve. Very efficient and nice hospital. Doing great and so happy I did it!

Thank you both. It looks like Latvia might be the right choice.

@2boys1girl1dog Can I ask which company you went with, which hospital and surgeon?

I went with Riga, I’m sorry but can’t remember the name of my surgeon. He did a great job but I didn’t really speak to him that much apart from just before the op and a few times afterwards. He was very professional and matter of fact and kept me informed. The staff at the hospital were great, they check up on you often and keep you pain free. There is a Facebook group called ‘weight loss Riga’’and you can find out people who are going at the same time as you. I made really good friends with the 2 ladies who had their operations on the same day as me and they are both doing amazing too, both weight loss wise and health wise - best decision I’ve ever made!
