Maybe a stupid question

Hi All,
I’m trying really hard to lose a stone and a half, I’d be really happy just to lose a stone at this stage!
I’ve had a really bad eating day today, but I’ve managed to stay at 1200 calories. It’s just all been very unhealthy 😢
Will this mess up my weight loss goals if I’m still only eating 1200?
Sorry, I know this sounds so stupid, but I’m very new to this.
I’m logging all my recipes and weighing everything In MyFitnessPal.
Thanks!

The main issue with this is that you won't be feeling full or satisfied (as you've been eating empty calories rather than good food) so you're more likely to get hungry and eat something and then go over your calorie target. If you manage to avoid doing that, you should be okay. Don't worry, it's just a day and you can get back on track tomorrow.

1200 calories per day is quite low, have you checked your TDEE? There are lots of calculators online.

If you go for a very low calorie allowance it is going to be much harder to stick to it, and every time you go over you are more likely to think, sod it, and overeat. It is better to think about making long term or permanent changes to your eating habits rather than going on a very low calorie crash diet.

Also, nobody loses weight consistently - there will be ups and downs and you need to learn to cope with them.

Thanks for your replies!
It really does depend on the food, doesn’t it? Yesterday I only ate around 900 calories but it was really healthy and filling food so I wasn’t hungry.
Today was just a bad day!!

You'll be heading towards an eating disorder fast if you're not careful OP.

Cutting calories too much isn't a good idea, better to cut by a few hundred off your TDEE every day.
