Now - I am having poached egg and chippy chips tonight - talk to me about damage limitation - to bread or not to bread?

My scales are broken and I am miserably ill. I have reasoned that I have 21 points to eat today, saved over the past few days, and I am due on. I Want Chips. Proper ones, and only proper ones will do.

I am having 2 poached eggs (as a protein tummy filler plus i love them) but surely bread is less dense on calories and fat (and therefor points)? So should I have a couple of slices of bread to bulk me out and stop me going loopy on chips? I figure i couldn't eat more than 450 grams of chips, could I? that's nearly a pound!

if you feel ill and you feel like bread, have a little piece. French and Italian women aren't fat and they have bread. French people laugh at us with our ideas of what to eat and what not to eat. A month ago I was out with my French friend and we decided to stop for coffee at 10:30. i had a cup without any pastry/cake or anything i fancied, she had a cup and a piece of chocolate cake. We were chatting and she was ellegantly eating her cake. After a while it was time to go but she had less then a half of her cake. I said that I'm not in a hurry and we could carry on for a while but she just pleasantly smiled, elegantly took a tissue and wrapped up a cake for later. She didn't deny herself a pleasure of having cake but she had just a little piece.

Wow, I probably shouldn't eat anything until Monday now

But it was nice. The chips weren't too greasy, and the eggs were nice - I did have two bread though.

colditz - Good on you. Have only just found this thread, but my advice would have been have the chips!!, which you clearly did. I follow WW and a portion of chip shop chips is 9 points. If you have 21 available, and desperately want chips then why deprive yourself. If you didn't have them yesterday you would still want them today.. Enjoy and carry on tomorrow. (Probably not the advice you wanted.) P.S. I have lost over 1.5stone since October and I still have chips occasionally

thank you fimbles5 you are right, id have only felt miserable until i had them they are out of my system for another month now
