Hi ladies. Can anyone advise me on how I can lose weight I'm such a short amount of time.

Long story short I have my hen holiday abroad with my ladies in 6 weeks and 3 days and I really want to get to my goal weight by then. Which is 20pounds lower than what I am now. Il be happy if I lose a stone (14lbs) but if I can lose a stone and a half il be BUZZING!

I know I need to make some serious changes but I'm wondering what any of you ladies may have done for a quick and high weight loss.

Thanks in advance.

Xxxxx

You can get the principles here on the Fasting board. It was tough, but I’ve found a short sharp burst easier than long slow dieting.
Did exercise 4x a week and an hour walk.
mainly had similar foods too to cut out any thinking around food.

I've been doing the Fast800 for 5.5 weeks and I've lost 9kg. I would recommend it.

I have lost 16lb in five weeks doing the Michael Mosley Eight Week Blood Sugar diet. It’s tough but it works...

mammabear0314 · 16/02/2023 05:13

@Shalh you will easily do it by summer for sure !! X

@mammabear0314 I lost almost 20 pounds in 2018. I took longer than 6 weeks, and it stayed off pretty well until last year. I went back to old habits!

mammabear0314 · 16/02/2023 08:40

@Gagagardener how ok g did it take you? That's amazing!!
And oh no that's a shame. Maybe do what you did last time to lose it again? Xx

Sorry, I can’t find that data. I changed phones and lost it. I am taller than you - 5ft 8in, and big feet etc; I began in cold weather (before Easter) when I 13 stone. I know I was down to 11st 10 at a party I went to in late summer.

I’ve lost weight several times over the last few years. The middle time was losing 1.5 stone in 6 weeks doing the fast 800. I ate between 700 and 900 calories a day and felt amazing (definitely a touch of disordered eating control coming in!) and hit the lowest weight I’ve been in a decade! But… when I broke it for one day (special meal out), I lost control again and I put it all back on in about the same time and continued the steady upward trend (see graph). I also lost loads of muscle and am still paying for that as have never been able to run nearly as fast since that 6 week starvation, and had serious hair loss three months later - there was hair everywhere, and it grew back greyer I think! It’s hard not to be tempted to do it again as I got to my target weight so quickly, but I honestly think for my long term muscle mass (already dropping with age and inconsistent exercise) I’d be mad to do it again. 5:2 (done as 4:3) worked well for my initial 2.5 stone loss, but now do 1500 calories and lots of running seems to result in slower weight gain after, and still decent weight loss at the start.

So a little update ... I've weighed in after following strictly for 5 days and being a bit more lenient on the weekend with the kids but still not going mad... and the result
