Calorie deficit

Hangupsrus · 26/01/2023 20:34

Hi op, joining a gym is really good for motivation and will almost certainly boost your weight loss and help you to tone up. You also need to create a calorie deficit one way or another, this could be just from monitoring your daily intake closely and cutting down from your usual by around 500, or joining a weight loss club like ww or sw. I've found calorie counting to be sufficient in the past with done walking, AND the main thing is making sure your head is in the right place or nothing will work, take my word for it. I'm planning to start cc from the start of February and will also be upping my exercise at the same time.

Tips
weight train 3X week. Full body
3 litres of water per day
get an app like my fitness pal to count calories and macros and log eveeything
record starting body measurements, pictures, weight, BF%
Take body measurements, pictures on weekly basis
weigjy daily
don’t worry about fluctuations during week
focus on improving weekly average
if very overweight aim to lose 1% of body weight per week
if much slimmer then 0.5% per week
get accountability partner or gym buddy or online coach or PT
make use of free advice from gym staff about weight training program and nutrition
aim for high protein to keep you satiated think 120g / day
you can treat yourself to chocs but in very moderation and have to calorie count
dont be really good during the week then blow it on weekend
have to be consistent
get 6-8 hrs sleep
if is too overwhelming change one habit at a time
one habit for 2 weeks then another habit after that

All the above advice is good, also set yourself interim manageable goals. size 20 to 12 is going to take a while. So you need to feel you’re achieving something along the way. They can be say 5kg weight loss units, or inches lost, or setting yourself a fitness target at the gym, or a behaviour goal like logging all your meals in my fitness pal for a week.
