Online pharmacy offering starting dose of 14 mg of Rybelsus

I am very overweight and looked at starting Ozempic. I did an online consultation with Health Express as I've used them before. They have offered me a starting dose of 14 mg of Rybelsus.

I'm not averse to using the tablet form and I know Ozempic is hard to get hold of, but I'm a bit worried about starting the dose at 14mg. I've read that you start at 3mg and then move on to 7 mg first.

Has anyone got experience of starting at such a high dose? I'm not diabetic (yet), just very fat!

Hi @Bluevases did you start on Rybelsus, how was it..?

AutisticLegoLover · 03/02/2023 09:08

That's a huge dose. I assume it's because of the shortage of injectable ozempic so diabetics prescribed it are not able to get their scripts. The same will happen with the tablets over time if unscrupulous online companies keep prescribing it to those who can't get it from a GP because they don't fit the criteria.

How much to take
• The starting dose is one 3 mg tablet once a day for one month.
• After one month, your doctor will increase your dose to 7 mg once a day.
• Your doctor may increase your dose to 14 mg once a day if your blood sugar is not controlled
well enough with a dose of 7 mg once a day.
Your doctor will prescribe the strength that is right for you. Do not change your dose unless your doctor has told you so. It is not recommended to take two 7 mg tablets to get the effect of one 14 mg tablet, as this has not been studied.

Are they as effective as Ozempic?

Has anyone from Ozempic switched to tablets? How was it?

@Bluevases Oh that sounds weird! They prescribed me 3mg for weight loss as I had never used this medicine before. I got the option to see different available dosages, so I guess I could have also chosen a different one.. However once I placed the order it didnt get automatically approved, so a doctor had to approve my request before I was given it. So As far as I am concerned, their service is safe. Maybe you accidentally clicked the wrong dose or just saw that it was available or something? Or did a doctor there prescribe it to you?

I was using ozempic but was not consistent with it and didnt like the injections really (no real reason)

I then ordered the tablets thinking this would be more convenient and I would be more consistent with it, took one and was ill for about 4 days, was off work, I could not stop throwing up for days on end. Couldnt keep even water down

I have no idea why the same product except in different form would have such an awful effect on me but never touched them again

I had to change to tablets when my prescribed Ozempic wasn’t available. Actually hated it, didn’t like waiting up in the night for 5 hours to pass since dinner to take it and couldn’t make it feasible to eat dinner at 5 every day. Was relieved when Ozempic came back into stock. Xx

i know this is a little old, but why did you wait to take them at night and not take them first thing in the morning?
