Starting again- accountability

I used to run ultramarathons, I ate healthily and had tons of energy. Now I’m overweight, can’t run for more than a minute and I’m too big to even contemplate running again properly until I’ve lost at least a stone as I just end up injured. I eat junk all day long. I’m so tired, I’m always ill my back hurts all the time. I’m 37 and I feel like I’m 87.

I’m desperate to be the person I once was but I just can’t find the motivation to sort my diet out, I used to love eating healthily but now I can’t even be bothered to make a sandwich for my lunch so I just eat chocolate and crisps to keep me going until dinner time.

So I’m posting here because tomorrow I’m going to start eating properly again, as the first step towards regaining the old me. I probably won’t weigh myself as it doesn’t seem to help my motivation. I’m aiming to get back into a size 10 and get some energy back. I will post my what I eat here every day to keep me accountable. I’m not going to calorie count at this stage but will do 16:8 fasting and aim to eat mainly unprocessed food, more fruit and veg and limited alcohol.

Day 0

breakfast: 4 mini donuts
lunch :6 mini donuts + mocha
dinner: fish finger sandwich
portions of fruit and veg 0

Hi
I will join. I’ve been a lot heavier than I am now but also a lot lighter. I’ve gained a stone and a half since the summer - we’ve been selling our house and buying a new house and I’ve given in to stress and comfort eating

Im 48 and I do CrossFit - I do a mix of CrossFit, weightlifting and gymnastics at least 4 times a week but I’ve still gained weight.

I have at least a stone and a half to
lose but food is the issue. I use MyFitnessPal to track food

today

Breakfast
protein porridge

lunch
apple, satsuma and protein yogurt

dinner
”all day breakfast” - 3 rashers of grilled bacon, 1 sausage and scrambled eggs

snacks (this is where is goes wrong)
mini cheddars
4 chocolate biscuits (Xmas tin)
pringles
chocolates out of tin at work

not particularly balanced or healthy. Day off tomorrow need to stock up on healthy snacks and make meals more interesting

Hi @RM2013 you sound a lot like me, until recently I was still doing a lot of exercise but it’s my diet that’s the problem. Sometimes I think that I would lose weight easier if I didn’t exercise because I wouldn’t be so hungry!

My number 1 goal today is to actually take something to work for lunch so I don’t just snack on junk all day.

Today I managed to eat 3 meals and minimal junk! I’m sure I would have gone over cals if I had been counting but right now I’m more interested in getting a proper eating routine in place so I don’t just snack on cereal bars all day.
I’m having second thoughts on IF as my job is really active and I’m outside all day, once I get hungry and cold it’s really hard to stop myself binging. Instead I’ve decided to make sure I eat breakfast but I won’t eat at all in the evenings after dinner.

day 1
B. Porridge and banana coffee
L. Cheese salad sandwich, grapes.
D. Homemade spaghetti bolognese with spinach and peppers. Satsuma.
Snacks. Pear, babybel tea

Fruit and veg 6
water 400 ml

Tomorrow I will aim for more veg and at least 1l of water as well as 3 meals.

Today was my day off but was busy so food wasn’t too bad

breakfast protein granola
lunch hoisin duck wrap and low cal potato
hoops

dimmer Jamir’s, nachos and salad

evening we always have a family night on Fridays so card games plus snacks. I had crisps, jelly beans sweets and ancouple
of glasses of Baileys

did CrossFit today
