Proven effectiveness of HIIT plus 10 hr eating window - has anyone tried this?

Did anyone see this yesterday in the Times? I got stuck on a long commute because of the train strikes so read papers for a change. I don't know if the link works or if it's behind a paywall but the research has shown that combining HIIT with a 10 hour eating window had a 2 fold increase in reducing fat compared to doing one on their own

Even better, in that 10 hour window, you could basically eat what you liked though obviously better if you were mindful about what you ate!

Dp needs to lose some weight for health reasons and I am going to join in so we do it together. Has anyone tried a 10 hour eating window? I'm thinking that this is simple enough for him to get on with as what will make him fail is a complicated diet with lots of rules!

bumping to see what windows people have tried

big issue for me is not eating after 7pm as I'm often not home from work till after then but I guess that means eating 2 main meals during the day!

I accidentally did this last year - lost 3st in 3 months.

Tbh I worked up to it, spent about six months building up fitness slowly without loosing weight. I wanted to loose weight but it just wouldn’t shift! Then changed it a bit so I was only doing HITT and changed my eating pattern, and magically the weight came off.

I won’t lie, it was hard work, six days of HITT a week is still time consuming. And I’ve still 2 st to drop.

The best thing is that I’ve toned, so I carry the weight a lot better.

Thank you for posting the article. Nice to know what I’ve done is an actual thing and not just me making it up as I go!

I accidentally did this too. Lost 8 inches from my arse!

Just a note though, "basically eat what you like" doesn't mean "eat as much as, you like", it's more no types of foods or food groups are banned. So if you want a twix, have a twix, and you don't need to worry so much about "carbs are bad for weightloss" type thing.

great thanks guys, sounds good! Dp has quite a lot to lose (around 20kg+) so I want us to do something sustainable but that also isn't too difficult to follow (i.e. not a lot of difficult rules etc.) and this looks like it will do the trick

well done to you both for your weight loss!
