Considering lipo

hopefully2019 · 31/12/2022 00:11

Hi guys,

I'm not here to be talked down because my mind is set lol. I have tried the gym/diet pills/ everything out there! Even PT sessions for 18 months and I just can't shift the stomach fat I have

I can afford liposuction and I'm considering it abdom, sides and chin area.
I'm 5 foot 9, small size 14
I recently had rhinoplasty in turkey 8 months ago and after alway being self conscious of my imagine- in conversation with my surgeon, I spoke about travelling to turkey again for a holiday. I meant with my family lol but the language barrier with the surgeon meant he thought I was coming back for more surgery. He then told me to get lipo because my body has no shape. Anyway, the poor fucker has stuck in my mind ever since and I'm now set on lipo and I must admit I need it.

I'm here to ask if anyone has experience with lipo in UK?
It's been priced at 2.9k for flights, hotel, surgery and medication etc.
I can afford that but want to explore my options

Any advise is kindly appreciated thank you x

No experience of surgery in Turkey but I just wanted to say, good for you! Sounds like you’ve done lots of research and if you are using the same company/surgeon again then at least you know you’re in safe hands.

Ps I’d love to have it but I am a big chicken.

Sweetchops22 · 31/12/2022 00:51

Following with interest…i really want it done too. How was your rhinoplasty? Would love this too. Wish I had of done it years ago

Endofdaysarehere · 31/12/2022 00:55

I don’t know if it’s relevant but I’ve recently had a tummy tuck on the NHS as part of a breast reconstruction.

it was brutal! It is brutal. I’m six weeks in and recovery is hard.
But, honestly, after four children (twins too) surgery is the only way I could achieve a flat stomach.

I don’t know if surgery in turkey is safe? But being able to see my pubis region again without moving stomach is lovely.

Endofdaysarehere · 31/12/2022 00:59

Although I would add, kindly if possible, that I am 5’ 11 and a size 10. BMI 25, so quite large.
So maybe it’s possible you try losing a little more weight before considering surgery?
it will work better if you have muscle.

sorry if that’s overstepping.

I'm thinking of lipo in a few years time (after finish having kids) and to get it done in Turkey as well! One suggestion, get it done in Nov as you need to wear tight bodysuits for a while and it would be very uncomfortable if it's hot so make sure your timing coincides with a cooler weather and if you live in the UK, you have more cooler months to keep the body suit on. Also they tell you I think you can take the body suit off after a month but a friend who had it kept wearing it for months longer and achieved much better results.

Hi ladies,

I don't know how to tag on here lol I'm fairly new but thanks for all your replies!

In reply to the comment regarding more weight loss- I've tried this for years but I have such stubborn fat on my stomach and I'm really self conscious. It's effecting my relationship. I would love to be able to bend down and not be conscious of my angle lol xxx

Rhinoplasty went great in Turkey. I had a large overhook nose and I hated it. Whole procedure was 2.7k including flights and spends for 10 days! It's changed my life. It really has. The doctor was Dr Volkan Kayha in Istanbul.

I've looked at medaway on instagram and had a quote of 2.9k, with flights! My friend had the same recently and she looks gorgeous and so confident. Her stomach is flat and she looks beautiful.

I was looking as soon as February tbh. They have the dates available and it'll still be cold in Istanbul then. So it seems like a good idea and I have a good 4 months until it gets warmer here in UK

I've just looked on another post and it's going to be approx 12k for 4 area lipo in London LOL. I've answered my own question really!

Thanks ladies and happy new year. Xxx

Sorry lovely I responded to this message in my comment just now but I've re read your answer now I apologise!
Yes I would plan to continue the weight loss and go hard before lipo in feb. I would be going the gym 5 times a week before hand lol. It's not that I don't push myself now because I do. I would just go super mega hard on the run up to going. Thank you so much for you're advise because you're totally right. Xxx

The healing isn't pleasant in lipo's but I'm sure you've experienced that with your rhinoplasty especially on day 3 but overall, days go quickly, you heal and you end up feeling much more confident in your own body and think of the amazing summer you will have wearing whatever you like much more confidently if you have it done in feb. Good luck with it.

I thought you would need to be at a constant weight for 2 years for lipo?

Did you manage to find out the cost equivlaent in the UK? I might be having weight loss surgery and would need to lose a lot of excess skin at the end of it, on arms and stomach.

I think it's different in turkey lol. I had a friend who went last year (crazy to think it's 2023) and she wasn't at a constant weight for 2 years. She's fluctuated for years now and her results are amazing!
The price in UK was £13,500 Including one night hospital stay, operation and medication. This doesn't include train to and from London and 4 night local hotel for aftercare and checks up. I think total would be in excess of 15k

Good luck with your weight loss :) x

I went to Lithuania for skin removal and lipo after massive weight loss. I found it a much better experience than turkey where I had my sleeve. They speak much better English everyone does and the care was top notch.

Hi @Beexo where did you go in Lithuania as I am looking for this surgery.

I think I may have lipoedema so not sure if I can have liposuction.

Any help would be most welcome.

Loubilou23 · 10/03/2024 22:01

I had a tummy tuck, muscle repair, lipo and renuvion done 15 months ago! Best thing I’ve ever done! It was a walk in the park to be honest. A bit uncomfortable for about 5/6 days but I was fully upright by day six, driving by day 17, walking dogs day 19, on my peloton day 21 - was absolutely fine. I’m 54 now so no spring chicken but I was prepared for a lot worse. I’m on a FB group and some people seem to have very long recoveries and months of discomfort, but I guess we’re all different as it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as some people seemed to experience.

It changed my life beyond measure! Go for it!

Mazybabe · 13/03/2024 21:02

Hi @Loubilou23 where did you have your surgery? I would be interested in any recommendations.
