5 sodding lbs

That's all that stands between me feeling good, or not - just 5lb. I am lucky that I lose weight easily but middle age sweet tooth and butter addiction is hitting hard. How do you dig deep and be disciplined? I won't "diet" BTW as just cutting out sweet stuff and alcohol will probably do a lot, but I'm definitely struggling with discipline.

I don't understand what you mean about the 5lbs.

I've found viewing foods as friends and not so friendly food. I do have slip ups though, but take a moment to think, was that worth it? Did it really taste that good? Do I want more of it straight away? If you do, then tell yourself there is no point eating it again!

Make a lot of simple soups to fill you up on and try get as much rest as possible.

Well, here’s your problem. You actively need to diet (sorry) because otherwise you will be gaining weight. To get in the right mind set you need realism.

I have the same problem @PlinkPlonkFizz I just need to lose 7lbs and I’ll be a comfortable size 12 which IMO is perfect for my 5’7 height. It’s not ruining my life as such but it really bugs me, and I do loads of exercise but just can’t stop over-eating bread and chocolate 😩 I seem to be able to lose a lb or two and then just pig out again too, which is so annoying and I could kick myself after stuffing my face. I just love food too much! And while I’m not actively unhealthy or obese I just can’t bring myself to care enough to deprive myself of sugary carbs, yet conversely it does really bug me and skew my perception of my looks! Stupid contrary brain 😆

You get it! 🤗🤗🤗👏 @DasAlteLeid the exact same struggle. I am so cross at myself for my awful willpower.

@Byelaws if I just don't eat as much chocolate, cakes and beer, I lose weight.

@TalkToTheHand123 soups have fallen off my radar, good idea.
