How to lose a belly apron

I'm overweight but have recently rejoined a gym and am working with a PT, so far so good. My biggest body hang up is my belly apron - it's not from having a section, it's just this wobbly hanging down belly like a big flap like this. Any tips for helping to reduce it??

Honestly, tummy tuck. Best thing I ever did.

JanuaryParty · 01/12/2022 22:11

How long was the recovery @CanYouFeelMyHeart if you don't mind me asking?

CanYouFeelMyHeart · 01/12/2022 23:31

Of course not! After about 3 weeks I could drive into work again. I got an infection in the wound which wasn't ideal but the aftercare was excellent as it was done privately. I guess all in all maybe 8-10 weeks? I'm now a year down the line and I am delighted every day that I finally did it.

The thing is, there's no way to get rid of skin like that except to remove it. They took 4 pounds off during the operation but I've lost about another stone since then because it's much more motivating when you've got rid of that excess bit and can really see the results and reap the rewards.

It takes about a year to lose all of the swelling and my shape now is so different; I have a proper waist and curves now.

Second a tummy tuck. I had my boobs lofted at the same time. Breastfeeding and C sections destroyed my body.

How much was the tummy tuck done privately? I’m tempted but have no idea where to start

cravingmilkshake · 02/12/2022 11:42

Ladies, what was the rough cost of tummy tuck?

lurchermummy · 02/12/2022 19:38

Thanks all but surgery ain't happening. Any other ideas?!!

My friend had amazing results after twins with a cross fit trainer.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 02/12/2022 19:47

Hang on, perhaps it's not a cross trainer. You stand in front of it and step up and push up with your arms. Can you tell I don't go to the gym?

Mine is similar so following for inspo!

I’m the same 😢 mine is post section, bad healing and the damage caused by a ten pound baby that decided to lie sideways for the final 6 months of pregnancy. I have lost weight but the skin is still there. As soon as I gain any weight, or any water retention, it goes straight there as well!

I have had reasonable results from: collagen treatments (v expensive for temp solution) ; very intensive core and Abs program (Kari Pearce power abs), strict diet and exercise, strict regime of body brushing and moisturising made it feel and look nicer but it never got rid of it completely. In many ways, losing weight made it worse as I looked like a deflated balloon.

I do think the only solution is a Tummy tuck but I’d never have one so I will have to just make my peace with it.

It cost me about 6k.
