Weight gain and the gym

I lost 3 stone last year and it mostly stayed off. I was counting calories and using the treadmill and eliptical along with hiking. I got down to 10 stone and at 5ft 6 I was happy.

I got cardio lazy and have put on 10lbs in the last 6 months and it has to go. I started back at the gym and my cardio is good and I'm doing Pilates and yoga (not getting any younger). I've also been doing some weights on the machines to improve my back and arm strength - mainly so I can plank better in Pilates.

I'm not losing weight even though my calories burn is in excess of my intake. My shape has changed a lot though and my jeans fit much better.

I'm assuming I'm building muscle and losing fat but still a bit disheartened. Any advice? Should I get out the tape measure? I've struggled with measuring in the past as don't seem to always get the same spot each time.

Thanks

The calories burned are quite often overestimated though. If you are eating back calories burned you may just be eating too many?
The only time I never lost was when I logged exercise because I thought I had more calories left to eat-so I ate them!

I'm not eating back. My TDEE is 1400 and I'm under that.

I think something is is a bit out to get a tdee of 1400 when you exercise, and if you are eating under that then you should definitely be losing weight, even if you are strengthening muscles.
Maybe you need new scales? Or just go by how you look/feel/fit in your clothes instead?
