Chocolate cravings

So, I finished my 8pm shift and as soon as I got home, I got my stuff ready for tomorrow and now I'm knackered, sitting on the sofa with a cuppa and watching telly.

I've eaten well today, no depriving myself but not going overboard either. I'm not hungry but I have really got into a habit of bingeing on chocolate every night. I'm a little overweight but eat quite healthily aside from this chocolate addiction. How do you break a habit like this?

Hey OP I'm following with interest, I'm 1 month into cutting out eating chocolate every night and it's been tough as I think it had turned into a habit, I try really hard to drink 2 litres of water a day and when the cravings are bad for me (tonight is a prime example) I have a galaxy light hot chocolate with water (about 38 calories) and seems to curb my craving.

Oh wow @hasitreallybeenthatlong 👏 that's amazing, well done! I'm trying with the water too which I manage some days. Don't know about you, but I feel like I don't even want it all that much, the evening just feels kind of empty without chocolate if that makes sense?!

100% get what you mean like last weekend I thought I've done so well I'll treat myself to something and I honestly couldn't think of what I wanted so I left it, I figured if I wanted something so bad I would know what I wanted. It's really hard/ strange to explain but I do know what you mean, hope it goes well and someone on here can shed more light.

I know exactly what you mean. It’s not actual hunger, but this feeling of wanting something comforting and familiar, for me anyway! My go-tos are a couple of squares of a ‘healthier’ alternative, like dark 70% coco chocolate, a keto friendly sugar free hot chocolate drink, or chocolate flavoured protein powder blended to a thicker consistency and eaten like a mouse/fake angel delight type concoction, jazzed up with berries and nuts. Or a spicy rich tasting Xmas type tea. Good luck you can do it!
