Hi , hope right place 2 post. I have bee extended breastfeeding for 2 year + and we are slowly weaning off. I have been classed as overweight, going from 9 stone before birth to now 11 stone . I walk around 15000 steps a day and don't overeat. I feel like when I'm nursing I hold onto fat and I've heard some people lost weight once they stopped nursing I can't seem to lose a pound and I'm hoping there's some ladies out there that food they finally lost weight once nursing stopped. I'm just looking for some hope. I've tried calorie counting , fasting can't lose a pound I know it's the nursing, anyone here lost weight once nursing stopped ? Thanks

My understanding is it’s the complete opposite. I lost loads of weight while breastfeeding, once you stop you have to worry about putting it back on. Breastfeeding burns 500 calories a day (so they say).

I lost weight once my babies weaned. It's not supposed to work like that but I found it impossible to lose much at all.

I can't lose weight when breastfeeding. Several of my friends are similar!

I lost weight whilst breastfeeding

If you're calorific intake is less than expended it is impossible not to lose weight (yes, this will get jumped on, yes it is still proven to be correct)

I've tracked calories precisely since a week after birth, I gained a lot of weight whilst pregnant. I have lost 2lbs per week for the last 11 weeks.

It’s the opposite, sorry

You’re supposed to lose weight whilst breastfeeding, however for me I held onto it, then it fell off once I stopped. Not sure why but it was the same with every child.

Not necessarily. I hold onto weight when breastfeeding - I stopped breastfeeding in June after 2 years and lost half a stone almost immediately. Happened with my first kid too. I am naturally slender so I think my body needs the weight to make milk and my appetite is much larger when feeding.

My body clung onto fat whilst breastfeeding and i lost weight easily when I stopped. I didn't change anything it just came off. I know everyone says you lose whilst breastfeeding but the opposite was definitely true for me.

Not for me. My body clings onto an extra half stone when exclusively breastfeeding. As soon as my babies started eating solids in a meaningful way, it dropped off with no effort and no change in diet.

See this is me I e always been petite. But my body has onto weight whe I'm.breastfeeding. I've heard a few people say it dropped off once they weaned I hope so ! It defiantly isn't that I'm eating to much x
