I've just been watching a program that states that a woman should eat around 2000 calories a day. I don't eat that much, probably around 1300 but I NEVER lose weight...how come??

Maybe you're eating too little, or not eating regularly, so your body isn't burning the energy efficiently, and storing any fat in case it needs it to survive starvation.

Not eating enough is definitley a problem. I was 2 stone over weight and had been for a long time even though I eat less than most people I know. I joined a weight loss programme and the leader looked at what I was eating and I was often way below the recommended points. I started on the plan and although it was a struggle to eat as much as it said I have lost 5.5 lbs in the first 3 weeks. I have been doing a little bit more exercise but tried this before and didn't loose anything with the exercise alone. The leader told me that I need to eat more protein as I eat plenty of carbs and vegetables but very small amounts of meat. I don't eat eggs or fish and try to compensate with pulses etc. but I wasn't getting the portions right at all.

I remember when we were younger we used to try to stick to 1000 calories a day! we did this for weeks too, madness!

More recently the flavour was not eating anything with more than 4gms of fat.
This was hard!!

There is so much advice isn't there? I KNOW REALLY IN MY HEART opps caps on ,, i should swim 2x per wk & eat less.

I cannot do it, hasn't anyone got a magic wand..
