Slimfast

I am the heaviest I have ever been, and I’ve got about 5 stone to lose.

I am thinking of doing slimfast to kick-start the weight loss, and then calorie counting after I have lost maybe 1-2 stone so I can sustain a healthy lifestyle.

How does slimfast work? Does it work? Have you had good results work it?

Ooh hi! My husband lost five stone on Slimfast. This has stayed off for almost five years!
he had two a day and a normal evening meal. As he is the cook here this meant he still cooked a fab meal woth no calorie control at counting at all. However, he also cut out his cheese and biscuit at 9pm habit.

as I say l, this was five years ago that he was heavier. I too have lost about two stone ; this is partly because I didn’t want to snack in front of him.

it has stayed off except for maybe five pounds but he is much fitter and we now hike long distances including climbing some big hills including Helvellyn earlier this year. M
reckon we are fitter on our fifties than our partying and smoking twenties!

i say do it.

he still replaces much every now and then with a slimfast shake when he feels he has overindulged x

good luck

I'm trying it at the moment @Hi71934 as I just don't have time to cook properly! I did it a few years ago when there were way less flavours to choose from although I only like a couple anyway Grin honestly it's worth a try - I think they're under £10 for 6 on Amazon still.

That's really encouraging about your DH @Mumstheword2022 - my DP has at least 10 stone to lose but is doing precisely zero about it Sad

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl

to be fair, he also used to be a heavy smoker and didn’t listen to me! I had zero influence. Like smoking, one day he just decided to do it. And unlike me, who arses around with diets, cheats all the time and then wonders why I haven’t lost and gives up, he just does it!

😜

Slim fast simply works because your calorie intake is massively reduced. You could do the same thing by eating chicken salads or similar which may be more satisfying as you get to eat with each meal.

Ultimately, weight loss is a mind game. You do it in the way that works for you and you enjoy otherwise you won't do it long term.

I'm also overweight so completely understand.

Please don't do this. If you're long term aim is calorie counting why not start now? Food is far more satiating than meal replacement shakes for obvious reasons and you're more likely to stick with it in the long term.

Permanent weight loss is about a lifestyle change more so than just food restriction for a period of time.
