A few years ago I wouldnt have thought I could get too big for my coats!!

Is it literally only eggs? Would you not get a bit gassy?

Its very much like doing keto- high protein/low carb
Have a look at that link and do a bit of research but it’s only for 3 days so can’t see the harm

Didn't Nigella Lawson's ex-husband do this for a long long time? I remember wondering about it because she's such a fabulous cook and living with someone who'd only eat eggs would seem like a real insult.

FiveShelties · 06/11/2022 20:06

Sounds awful and I love eggs. Good luck.

mishmased · 06/11/2022 20:32

Have you tried drinking green tea? Helps with weight loss I think 😊

Theunamedcat · 06/11/2022 20:37

I love how they have to point out the diet isn't reccomended for people who are allergic to eggs 😂

riotlady · 06/11/2022 20:46

What is the benefit of eating only eggs vs a general low calorie high protein diet? Why can you not have a bit of chicken or cod? Seems like a really punitive way of making yourself lose weight tbh!

xPeaceX · 06/11/2022 22:13

Eggs are very filling and you can't go too wrong I am guessing.
I will report back

Good luck getting the eggs. Our local shop hasn't had any for ages thanks to avian flu.

I haven't started yet, for all my good intentions. I was just trying to restrict calories and Sunday and Monday I did a great job. Tuesday, I ate rings around myself.
I'm thinking still. Could I bring an omelette to work? Would it stink. I'm out for a couple of drinks tomorrow, looking forward to afternoon tea with an old friend on sat and my brother is coming over Sunday so I'm thinking next Monday at the moment. I'll make my omelettes on Sunday night! Freeze them.

I'm so chubby though. I'm on a mission.

Drink, afternoon tea, dinner? Be sensible about those and exercise. Don’t just eat eggs for 3 days.

Skala123 · 08/11/2022 16:47

Wtf are you going to achieve in three days?? Did it take you three days to put the weight on?!

xPeaceX · 08/11/2022 17:06

@Skala123
I definitely need a boost to get going. I have two stone to lose. I feel (erroneously, clearly) that I don't eat too much, so my recent confrontation with the reality that I weigh 11 stone at 5'1" shocks me and demoralised me.
I'm just reducing intake this week which is slow. No results as yet. But I know from past experience that the boost that comes from an initial burst of effort always reminds me that 1) I'm in control, 2) that change is possible and 3) that progress is well underway always galvanised me to get going.
It'S psychology that I need to hack first. I know how to eat, it's just how to stop being so relaxed about food like I am right now.

I've done it a few times as a reset after a period of overindulgence. I find it good, it puts you into keto so you're not hungry after a while. I tend to lose around 7lb , mostly bloat obviously, but 4-5lbs tend to stay off. I'm quite small and with normal BMI so anyone with more to lose could shed more. It's not the healthiest diet in the world, but it's only 3 days and can be a good kickstart to a low carb diet.
