I’ve put on almost 4 stone in 3 years, and I need to get focussed and do something good for myself. I like the idea of Noom from what I’ve read online but would like to hear success stories from anyone who has tried it, please.

At the same time, I also don’t mind hearing any disasters too!

Thank you!

Bumping this, as I'm considering Noom too 🙂

I followed religiously for three months. All the lessons, all the activities etc. Signed up for 6 months. Lost only about 3 lbs in total over three months. Gave up and have since lost another 4 lbs in a month, not tracking, not Nooming at all.

Didn’t help me. I felt like it was just telling me all things that I already knew. I don’t have an issue with understanding what my problems are, I have an issue addressing them!

next time I would just use My Fitness Pal.

I'm the same and the more I've been reading about Noom today, the less I think it's likely to work for me unfortunately

I successfully lost over 3 stone using Noom last year but I really enjoyed the reading and learning about food and behaviour. It's basically just calorie counting though, which you can do using My Fitness Pal (which has a better food catalogue and is free) or similar apps. I'm now counting calories to maintain and using MFP and it's doing the same job. There's a good Reddit group for Noom which might be worth a look at if you want other opinions.

I lost 2 stones earlier this year & am just re-starting

@SlowlyPootlingAlong Sadly less and less of the decent features of MFP are free these days

Luana1 · 09/11/2022 19:19

I've just started after a good friend lost 3 stone in 6 months. I guess it won't work for everyone but it seems to make sense if you are an emotional eater like I am. I have high hopes :)

I liked it. I lost just over a stone over three months with Noom and learned a lot about my relationship with food.

I don't think it is designed as a quick method of losing weight. It helps you explore your relationship with food so that you make conscious decisions about food.

There's an app called "Lose it!" which is (currently) free and is very similar to how MFP used to be before they started charging for most of it

And, @TempNameChangexx the premium version is very good and it's something reasonable like £35 for the year. Can't remember which feature i wanted that i signed up for but it seems user friendly.
